"We had ourselves a time, off the grid," Thompson captioned the image.

Also in the picture are fellow Fox NFL Sunday stars Michael Strahan, Jay Glazer, Terry Bradshaw, Jimmy Johnson, Rob Gronkowski, Howie Long, Curt Menefee, and Erin Andrews.

NFL fans reacted with delight to the bonding session.

"Looks like a group pic of the next season of Survivor," one fan said.

"What a great group," another said.

"Yeah, Tom Brady's really going Fox Sports," a third noted.

What was noticeable about the photo was that Fox NFL analyst Greg Olsen was missing.

Brady, who signed a 10-year, $375 million deal with Fox in May 2022, is replacing Olsen as the No. 1 Fox NFL analyst alongside play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt.

It means Olsen is likely to drop to the No. 2 lineup alongside Joe Davis despite getting rave reviews for his work on Fox.

"No Greg Olsen. So sad," one fan commented on the image.

"No Greg Olsen??" another said.

Brady, the former New England Patriots quarterback, is excited for his new career move.

“I believe I can provide a pretty unique perspective that I think a lot of people will really like," Brady told Front Office Sports

"It’s going to be a lot of hard work. It’s going to be a lot of fun.

"It’s always about challenging yourself to grow in different areas. And this is certainly one way that I’m doing it.”

Brady says he has huge respect for the sidelined Olsen.

“I love Greg. Greg’s done an incredible job and he’s got a great future and great career," he said.

"Obviously already had one as a player, had one as a broadcaster, and anything Greg puts his mind to, he’s going to be incredibly successful as well."

To prepare for his new role, Brady has met with executives and talent at the Fox studios in Los Angeles, and spoken to fellow broadcasters such as ESPN's Troy Aikman for advice.

“A lot of studying, a lot of research, a lot of talking to a lot of friends who are in the business and that have gone through their own growing pains,” he said.

"Reaching out to some of the best in the industry that have given me some great advice and then just going in there and just doing dry runs and practice.

"It’s been really fun. It’s been a different challenge.

"Fortunately, I think there’s a database of knowledge that’s been built up over 23 years of sitting in meeting rooms and being in game-plan meetings.”
