PAT'S A JOKE

Pat McAfee claims ‘it’s nothing in your household’ after revealing Travis Kelce’s career earnings with new Chiefs deal

The presenter references Kelce's relationship with singing superstar

TRAVIS Kelce has become the highest-paid tight end in the NFL, which left himself open to a joke from Pat McAfee.

Chiefs superstar Kelce has signed a new deal, worth $34.25 million in the next two years.

The new deal comes just months after Kelce helped the Chiefs to a third Super Bowl triumph in five seasons.

"Travis Kelce has taken pay cuts in the past to potentially open up more space in the salary cap," McAfee said.

"Has obviously produced, is now multiple times Super Bowl champion, a world icon, a podcast host, and now highest-paid tight end in history. Congratulations."

His on-field exploits are obviously special enough, but Kelce has also made headlines in recent times for his relationship with singing superstar Taylor Swift.

That was obviously in McAfee's mind when he made his next comments on the Pat McAfee Show.

"He had already earned over a $100 million.

"Congrats brother. I mean it's nothing in your household, but still good."

Kelce reacted to the new deal himself in a video posted by the Chiefs to X, the site formerly known as Twitter.

"(It's) an honor and a pleasure and I can’t wait to get after it these next two years… Chiefs forever," he said.

Kelce was selected by the Chiefs in the 2013 NFL Draft, and it's been a memorable decade in Kansas City.

With coach Andy Reid and young quarterback Mahomes, the Chiefs have become the dominant force in football.

They beat the San Francisco 49ers in Miami in 2020, to claim a first Super Bowl for the Chiefs in half a century.

They followed that up with victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2023 Super Bowl in Glendale, Arizona.

And on a glorious night for the Chiefs, they made it a hat-trick with victory over the 49ers in Las Vegas in February.

Travis Kelce's next ring?

TRAVIS Kelce has three Super Bowl rings - and a psychic matchmaker reckons he could soon add an engagement ring.

Speaking to The U.S. Sun, the psychic claimed Kelce will soon propose to music megastar girlfriend Taylor Swift.

But she also predicted both would eventually be married twice.

“The stars are aligned for these two at the moment,” Deborah Graham told The U.S. Sun.

“I see the relationship moving forward, and I see it moving towards that next level.

“The difficulty is that I see two life paths for them and two rings - I see two marriages there for both of them."

The 49ers led at half-time, but the Chiefs came back to force overtime. And a touchdown from Mecole Hardman, set up by Mahomes, clinched a 25-22 victory.

Last season, the new relationship between Kelce and Swift garnered enormous attention for the NFL.

The hype surrounding the pair helped pull record viewing numbers for the Super Bowl.

Kelce is now a huge figure in sports, with no sign of his star power declining.

He hosts the hugely popular podcast New Heights with his brother Jason, who retired following the 2023 season.

He also appears on Saturday Night Live and will soon host a quiz show on Amazon Prime Video.
