And Belichick clearly believes he can do a better job than his former Patriots tight end.

"You know, a lot of people connect me with a saying called, 'Do your job.' And telling people to do their jobs," Belichick said.

"Gronk, I've been watching on Fox NFL Sunday and I'm begging you...stop doing your job.

"Do another job. Do somebody else's job!"

The cameras then cut to Gronkowski laughing in hysterics at the joke alongside comedian Kevin Hart and former Patriots teammate Julian Edelman.

NFL fans clearly loved Belichick showing his sense of humor.

"I think that is the first time I ever saw coach smile..." one fan said.

"Bill Belichick killed it," a second fan said.

"GOAT Comedian!" a third added.

"Now that he's no longer wearing his traditional hoodie and scowl, people are seeing how funny Belichick can be," a fourth noted.

Gronkowski has become one of the mainstays of the Fox NFL Sunday crew since retiring from the league.

Belichick is launching a new career in broadcasting after failing to land an NFL job in the offseason.

He was a successful guest of McAfee during the NFL Draft in Detroit.

As their show came to a close, McAfee heaped praise on Belichick for his contributions throughout the evening.

Calling him "a legend as a coach" and "a legend as a [general manager]," McAfee said he was confident Belichick would "crush" whatever challenge he took on next.

"Well, is there any chance I could be on your show during the fall?" Belichick asked.

He went on to explain that he "got fired twice in Detroit in '76 after the season they fired us, right, but then they couldn't get [coach Chuck] Knox to comes they rehired us, and then fired us in '77.

"So I don't want to get fired here tonight and make it a hat trick."

McAfee quickly suggested that Belichick gets hired instead, suggesting he appear every Monday in the fall.

The two immediately shook on it, much to the excitement of everyone on set as Belichick added, "Let's see if we can work that out."

Belichick has also been lined up to work with Manning's Omaha Productions as a regular guest during Monday Night Football on ESPN.

The former Patriots head coach, for his part, was on the receiving end of a hilarious jibe by former quarterback Drew Bledsoe at Brady's roast.
