But despite his tender years, he showed no signs of fear as he went toe-to-toe with one of his icons, 39.

"It was kind of me like checking on him, not in an aggressive way," Jackson said on the Run it Back podcast.

"He drove down the middle in the transition, and I definitely snatched the ball from him.

"You know, it's LeBron so they called a foul.

"I asked him, 'I got you on top of your head?' He started tapping that bald spot a little bit. He's still the king though."

Jackson has emerged as a useful player for Memphis this season and will hope to continue his development.

On the same show, co-host Lou Williams asked Jackson if Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo had pinched him during a game.

“Yes, right here,” he said and lifted up his shirt.

“I was,” Jackson started then lowered his voice to a whisper.

“Excuse me, I gotta check my mama, I gotta check my mama.

“I was busting his a**! I was busting his a**!

“I kept coming off, shooting quick 3s, so when Pat Beverley subbed into the game, [Antetokounmpo] said, ‘Nah, I got him, I got him.'

“I blew by him, anytime I moved, he would just grab my side and squeeze so hard, it hurt so bad.”

Jackson's attitude and personality should serve him well in the NBA.

James, meanwhile, has hinted he will be ready to call time on his career soon.

Time for LeBron to retire?

"At the end of the day, I hate to say it, but I believe this in my soul right now - I wish LeBron James would retire.

"Not because I don't want to see more of LeBron James, not because I don't appreciate LeBron James.

"But I honestly believe deep down inside, the more LeBron James continues to play the game of basketball, the more it's going to hurt his legacy and the more it's going to continue to hurt his GOAT argument.

"As long as he steps foot on that floor, every single season, there's gonna expectations of him winning a championship.

"And when he don't do that, we're gonna be looking at him saying: 'Well what happened now?'"

The icon is desperate to play Bronny, who is expected to enter this year's draft.

The combine's 5-on-5 scrimmages begin tomorrow, which will give teams a chance to look at Bronny.

And where he ends up could affect where LeBron takes the court next season.
