LeBron James son Bronny ‘medically cleared’ to join NBA Draft 2024 after terrifying cardiac arrest ahead of combine
Bronny will reportedly take part in a specific combine activity on Tuesday
THE son of LeBron James, Bronny, is set to return to basketball activities after a brutal cardiac arrest he suffered last July.
The 19-year-old Bronny is "medically cleared" to be drafted and play in the NBA for the 2024-25 season.

Bronny's cardiac arrest came during a workout and needed treatment to help repair a congenital heart defect.
It was reported by ESPN that the USC product Bronny has been medically cleared to be selected in the 2024 NBA Draft by the NBA's Fitness to Play Panel.
The panel includes three NBA physicians who evaluated and approved Bronny, per ESPN.
The latest update on Bronny means that the 19-year-old can participate in this week's pre-draft combine.

Bronny can fully participate in the tests, medical evaluations, team interviews, and 5-on-5 scrimmage games.
ESPN reported that the son of the four-time NBA champion LeBron will participate in the latter combine requirement on Tuesday.
Bronny was sidelined for multiple months after his heart problems.
He returned to play college basketball and averaged just 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 19.4 minutes per game.

In April, Bronny declared for the NBA Draft.
He'll have until May 29 to decide whether to stay in the draft or return to college.

The Athletic reported that Bronny is expected to stay to enter the draft.
At the same time, he has previously decided to explore the transfer portal if he wishes to go back to college.
The combine will take play from May 12-19 in Chicago and the first round of the NBA Draft will be held on June 26 in Brooklyn.
The second round will take place the next day on June 27 from Manhattan.

As for LeBron, the 39-year-old has previously made it known that he wants to play with his son Bronny in the NBA.
The elder James has continued to show his dominance in the NBA, averaging 25.7 points this season.
However, James will be turning 40 years old in December and questions about retirement have been circulating about the Los Angeles Lakers superstar.
He'll have to decide his future in June.

James can either opt into a $51.4 million deal or become a free agent and have the chance of playing for a fourth NBA team.
The 2024-25 season is the second year of a $99 million contract the four-time MVP signed last year.
