Relegated Luton boss Rob Edwards tipped for immediate Premier League return with managerial merry-go-round set to begin

ROB EDWARDS could be set for an immediate return to Premier League management.

The Luton Town manager earned plenty of plaudits despite failing to guide the club to safety.

Edwards, 41, is reportedly on the radar of Ipswich Town following their promotion to the Premier League.

The Tractor Boys were led to the top flight by Kieran McKenna off the back of back-to-back promotions from League One.

However, the former Manchester United coach is gaining interest from existing Premier League sides.

Brighton and Hove Albion are keen on McKenna following Roberto De Zerbi's shock exit from the club.

The Italian has been linked with switches to European giants such as Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus and AC Milan.

Chelsea and Man United have also been tipped with an interest in the Northern Irishman.

TalkSPORT have claimed that Ipswich could make a move for Edwards should McKenna leave Portman Road.

Edwards has a contract at Kenilworth Road that is believed to run until 2026.

This means that the Prem newcomers will have to agree a deal with the Hatters to capture the manager.

Brighton CEO Paul Barber has admitted that the club have been tracking potential managers before De Zerbi confirmed his exit.

He said: “I'm not going to get into names, Roberto has barely left this seat.

"But obviously, we've got a style of play and we are realistic about our ambitions.

"We don't wait for a coach to leave before we start the work.

"Part of our process is that we know who our next coach might be before it actually needs to happen."
