Patrick Mahomes’ high-school basketball film leaves Steph Curry completely stunned as NBA star praises ‘fluid footwork’
Curry also made fun of Mahomes' jump shot in the process
NBA superstar Steph Curry was impressed with some of Patrick Mahomes' high school basketball highlights.
Curry watched throwback basketball videos of the future three-time Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes during ESPN's NFL Live program on Wednesday.

While at the Warriors' training facility, ESPN gave the four-time NBA champion Curry the task of examining the high school basketball film of a youngster wearing a No. 5 jersey.
Curry praised the young basketball player's game, saying, "I was gonna give him some compliments on how fluid he was with his footwork."
Once the producer told Curry that the player was a young Mahomes, the 36-year-old was surprised.
"No, it's not. You would have no idea that's Pat Mahomes right there," Curry said.

Curry continued praising Mahomes' basketball skills as a kid while mocking his jump shot in the process.
"He looks pretty comfortable around the trees when you get into the paint," Curry said.
"His creativity, like double spin moves.
"It doesn't seem like he's afraid of the physicality either, so pretty well-rounded, even though the jumper needs some work."

Mahomes then appeared in the segment and hilariously defended his shooting form.
"It goes in, it don't always have to be pretty. I mean, I'm not gonna shoot like Steph," Mahomes said.

Curry then shared his belief that he and the quarterback Mahomes have the same role in directing the offense and helping their teammates thrive.
"We always have an option. I think that's kind of the way that Pat sees the game. For me as a point guard, that's what you try to feel like. You always have an option to get the ball where you want it to go," the 2022 NBA Finals MVP concluded.
Mahomes then revealed that if he hadn't stopped growing during his youth, he would've pursued basketball over football.
He got his athletic genes from his father, Patrick Mahomes Sr., who played in the MLB for 11 seasons.

The younger Patrick pitched a no-hitter during high school baseball and struck out 16 batters.
But Mahomes wouldn't follow in his dad's footsteps and instead took his talents to the football field.
He left the sport of baseball ahead of his junior year at Texas Tech to focus on football instead.
Mahomes would record 41 touchdowns in 2016.
The Chiefs would draft him in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

And Mahomes won his first Super Bowl in the 2019-20 season and eventually signed a 10-year deal worth up to $503 million.
He has won three MVP awards and two straight Super Bowls.
