Cris Collinsworth reveals advice to Tom Brady ahead of Fox NFL debut after ex-QB’s ‘insane and intense’ phone call
Brady begins his new broadcasting role with Fox in the fall
NBC announcer Cris Collinsworth has revealed Tom Brady called him for advice ahead of the new NFL season.
Seven-time Super Bowl winner Brady, 46, is starting a new job in the Fox Sports broadcast booth in September.

Collinsworth retired from the NFL in 1988 and has since spent over three decades in broadcasting.
He has previously served as a color commentator on Fox NFL Sunday and has won 17 Sports Emmys over his career.
The 65-year-old joined Kay Adams on her show Up & Adams to discuss Brady's move into the booth on Tuesday.
Collinsworth revealed an "insane and intense" Brady had "called him" to discuss plans for the role.

"Tom is a great guy. He's gonna be brilliant," he said.
"I mean, our whole life we've been trying to anticipate what Tom Brady was thinking when he came to the line of scrimmage, and God right, and now we're gonna hear it.
"He's studying hard. He's working on it."
Brady retired from football in February 2023 after 23 seasons and seven Super Bowl rings.

The 46-year-old has no prior broadcast experience but penned a ten-year, $375 million deal with Fox.
"He's done 1000 different practice games," Collinsworth added.

"I was like, ‘Tom, just be you.' People know who you are. Just be you.
"Go on there and talk about football and have some fun. He'll be great."
Brady recently opened up on his biggest regret after leaving football behind just over a year ago.
He appeared on the popular The Pivot podcast hosted by Ryan Clark, Channing Crowder, and Fred Taylor.
"When I see these young players, I see like Patrick [Mahomes] out there at quarterback, running around, laughing, having fun, I'm like, 'I used to be like that. What the hell happened?''' Brady said.
