Terry Bradshaw and the pregame NFL show analyzed Sunday's games.

The panel was given the task of discussing the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants matchup.

Host Curt Menefee brought up Vikings starting quarterback Sam Darnold, who was making his debut with the squad and will fill in for first-rounder J.J. McCarthy after he suffered a season-ending knee injury.

Bradshaw was asked if he believes the former 2018 first-round pick Darnold can turn his career around after being a backup with the San Francisco 49ers last season.

The NFL Hall of Famer revealed his belief in Darnold and thinks his disappointing play as a starter in the first five seasons stems from being in bad situations.

"He has been with bad teams," Bradshaw said.

"If you're a top-ten pick in the NFL and you're a quarterback, you should not be a failure.

"He simply hasn't been with the right team.

Darnold landed with the Jets in 2018 and couldn't become the franchise's savior.

He threw for 45 touchdowns with a disappointing 39 interceptions in 38 games with New York.

But the franchise didn't provide Darnold with enough playmakers, as well as a proper offensive line.

The same turnover issues while operating with an underwhelming supporting cast occurred during his two-year stint with the Carolina Panthers.

The 27-year-old impressed against the Giants, helping the Vikings win on the road 28-6.

Darnold completed his first 12 passing attempts and finished with 19-of-24 completing for 208 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.

He won at MetLife Stadium for the first time since when he donned a Jets uniform.

Darnold and the Vikings will have a tough test in Week 2, however, as they will take on the defending NFC champion San Francisco 49ers.
