Drew McIntyre defends WWE title against Big Show just 20 minutes after Wrestlemania 36 win over Brock Lesnar

DREW MCINTYRE is already living up to his promise to be a fighting champion after an historic WrestleMania 36 WWE Title triumph.

The 34-year-old – from Ayr – finally fulfilled his destiny and Vince McMahon’s prediction as being “The Chosen One” after a short but bruising victory over Brock Lesnar on Sunday.

That made him the first-ever British superstar to hold the biggest championship in wrestling - and he vowed to defend it as regularly as possible after his win.

However, even the Scottish Terminator would not have expected his first defence to come so quickly after his triumph - and against another monster.

WWE revealed shock footage on Monday Night Raw of the Big Show challenging McIntyre to a match just 20 minutes after his victory over Lesnar.

The champ had headed to the ring for a celebratory interview with Sarah Schreiber.

But they were soon interrupted by the world’s largest athlete who brought a referee out with him.

The 7ft Big Show talked down at McIntyre and eventually talked him into a match, with the giant dominating the tired Scotsman.

Eventually the Brit managed to hit his Claymore Kick to down Show and claim the win via pinfall to secure his first successful defence.

He could soon find himself defending the belt against WBC heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury after challenging him to a showdown yesterday - which was immediately accepted by the Gypsy King.

He was released from WWE back in June 2014 and even watched WrestleMania 31 in a nightclub back home in Glasgow.

But after rebuilding his reputation on the independent scene, he returned to WWE in 2017 as part of their NXT brand before moving back up to the main roster a year later.
