As reported by Forbes, a 30-second Super Bowl commercial in 2023 costs an average of $7million, which is "a record-high."

Prices for advertisements for the Big Game have been growing nearly every year since 2015.

According to NBC 5 Dallas-Forth Worth, a 30-second spot for a Super Bowl advertisement cost $6.5million in 2022 and $5.5million in 2021.

The 2020 price was slightly higher than 2021's, coming in at $5.6million.

However, from 2015 to 2019, the spending increased annually.

As the outlet reported, companies spent an average of $5.3million in 2019, $5.2million in 2018, $5million in 2017, $4.5million in 2016, and $4.25million in 2015 for Super Bowl commercials.

How many commercials are there for Super Bowl 2023?

Super Bowl 2023 comes with a host of commercials.

These ads will bring in a massive amount of revenue for FOX, the network airing Super Bowl LVII.

According to CNN Business, approximately 70 commercials air during Super Bowl Sunday.

For Super Bowl 2023, some of these ads include a Bud Light commercial starring Miles Teller and his wife Keleigh Sperry and a Rakuten ad featuring Alicia Silverstone and Elisa Donovan

Others include a Michelob Ultra commercial with Serena Williams and Brian Cox and an ad for e.l.f. Cosmetics starring Jennifer Coolidge.

In 2022, Super Bowl LVI aired on NBC.

Tim Calkins, a marketing professor at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, told CNN Business: "You’re likely looking at about 70 ads, so you’re getting pretty close to $500 million in ad revenue from the game for NBC.

"And that, by the way, is just during the game. That doesn’t count before the game, after the game and all of the other opportunities there are to run additional advertising.”

What is the most expensive Super Bowl ad?

If companies want to air ads that go beyond 30 seconds, they will pay a significantly higher price.

As NBC 5 Dallas-Forth Worth reported, in 2020, Amazon and Google created the priciest Super Bowl commercials ever.

Both companies paid $16.8million for their 90-second ads.
