Chelsea complete SECOND transfer signing within 24 hours as Championship wonderkid joins Blues from Norwich

CHELSEA have confirmed the signing of youngster Alex Matos from Norwich.

He becomes the Blues' second signing in the last 24 hours after they completed a deal for Villarreal star Nicolas Jackson.

Matos, 18, featured in both Norwich's Under-18s and Under-21s last season.

He averaged a goal or an assist per game in 11 appearances for the Canaries' Under-18s.

Matos was then handed his debut for the Under-21s, scoring three goals in the Premier League 2 last term.

He is capable of playing in midfield and attack.

The transfer was confirmed on Saturday following the expiration of his contract at Carrow Road.

Chelsea will have to pay Norwich compensation.

The Blues have bolstered the youth-team in recent windows and now have an array of talent at Cobham.

They signed 18-year-old Andrey Santos in January before loaning him back to Vasco da Gama.

The midfielder has already made his senior Brazil debut and is tipped for big things.

Chelsea also spent a reported £17.5million on Kendry Paez.

The 15-year-old starlet can't play for another three years in England due to his age.

Todd Boehly also spent heavily on Inter Milan star Cesare Casadei, 19, last season.

He is set for a loan move away from Stamford Bridge this summer.
