It came following the forward’s second flagrant foul after catching rival Jusuf Nurkic in the face with a stray arm.

Green swung around and caught his opponent in the head as he was being marked with 8:23 left of the third-quarter.

He was ejected from the game by the referees, the third time this year, and already equalling his most in a season.

The NBA will now launch an investigation into the incident, and decide whether he will be suspended again.

His second ejection came against the Minnesota Timberwolves on November 14

Green had put the Utah Jazz's Rudy Gobert in a headlock, before being kicked out of the clash.

He was suspended for five games after the incident, with his repeated offences being cited by the NBA.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr said after the Nurkic incident: “I haven't seen. I haven't seen a replay, so I don't have any comment on it."

When pressed about his absence and the effect it had at that point of the game, he added: “Huge swing.

“We kind of felt good about having him at the five, spreading the floor. We had shooters out there.

“Obviously, it changed the lineup around. We thought that could get Steph some space and Draymond could use his speed.”

Kerr added: "We need him.

"We need Draymond, he knows that. We've talked to him.

"He's got to find a way to keep his poise and be out there for his teammates."
