WWE legend Virgil, 57, makes surprise wrestling return with AEW in hilarious Chris Jericho promo

WRESTLING fans were shocked this morning as WWE 80s legend Virgil made a shock return in All Elite Wrestling.

The 57-year-old, real name Michael Jones, became famous in the formerly-named WWF as Ted DiBiase’s bodyguard.

He became a huge fan favourite after turning on the villainous “Million Dollar Man” and stayed working for Vince McMahon until 1995 before joining rival promotion WCW as part of the iconic New World Order faction.

Apart from a few independent appearances, many wrestling fans thought they had seen the last of the star, who is also known as Soultrain Jones.

But with his AEW World Championship defence against Cody Rhodes coming up on Saturday, title holder Chris Jericho decided to air a video package promoting the clash that poked fun at his challenger’s recent emotional promos.

And that allowed Virgil to make a triumphant return in the parody clip.

It began with Jericho being asked by his Inner Circle comrade Sammy Guevara asking which brand of bubbly he liked, and went on to feature other members of the faction giving one-on-one interviews.

And then the surprise twist emerged, as multiple segments from Soultrain Jones were shown as he compared Y2J’s greatest to Olive Garden bread sticks — unlimited.

Virgil was referred to as a “living legend” during the promo as he joined a friend of the champ’s aunt from church in predicting a win for Jericho.
