Disney World's Fort Wilderness Resort in Florida has opened its upgraded cabins to visitors.

The park, which offers guests a chance to escape the traditional theme park experience and venture out into the wild, provides itineraries such as swimming, fishing, archery, and horseback riding.

While the experience feels much more like a camping trip in the woods, loyal Disney fans will be thrilled to know that it's just across the river from the Magic Kingdom.

The company announced an overhaul of its iconic log cabins with a refreshed look and fresh amenities.

While the cabins are the same size with a similar one-bedroom, one-bathroom layout (themed, of course), its former wooden exterior has been swapped out for a more modern look.

Visitors have the luxury of a spacious living room, dining nook, and a full kitchen stocked with all the appliances you could need, including a fridge, dishwasher, microwave, and Mickey Mouse ovens.

A convertible seating (and sleeping) area allows the cabin to accommodate up to six, as well as two queen-sized beds, and twin-size bunk beds in a separate bedroom.

Perhaps the largest improvement is the cabin's new floor-to-ceiling windows, which vastly expand the feel of the entire complex.

Guests can even step into the great outdoors, right from the comfort of their own home, with a patio deck that allows for barbecues and nights of star-gazing.

To book, travelers must be part of the Disney Vacation Club, which includes a membership fee to stay at Disney properties.

The subscription includes access to dozens of properties across the country, with resorts in Florida, California, South Carolina, and Hawaii.

While many cabins have been completely renovated, the project is not yet complete, with former log cabins left to be replaced.

Upon completion of the project, there will be 365 total cabins.

Fans can book their stay up to 11 months before check-in, with the window closing one day before their check-in date.

Earlier in the year, Florida Manufactured Home Sales purchased 100 of Disney's log cabins and put them up for sale.

The second word got out that Disney fans could own the tiny home of their dreams, the units started selling like hot cakes.

While officials at Florida Manufactured Home Sales said that nearly all of the 100 cabins have been swooped up, owner James Robert "J.R." Morrison said there may still be hope for any die-hard Disney enthusiasts hoping to become a homeowner.

"Keep your eyes open,” he said to Florida Today.

“Some of these people who bought them aren’t going to be able to keep these things. I do anticipate a certain amount coming up for sale by owner.”

For those who are looking to venture outside of the traditional housing market, he explained that a log cabin may be a great investment.

"This has definitely showed me that one, there are a huge amount of Disney fans, and two, tiny houses are the way, they are the future,” Morrison said.

“A lot of people aren’t going to be able to afford that $500,000 home. The generation today doesn’t want the big houses. It’s a great alternative.”
