After her appearance, Ryan, 49, and his co-star, Luke Bryan, 47, suggested that Meghan would be a "fun" replacement for fellow judge Katy, 39, following her departure.

"I think Meghan's always been real fun," Luke told Entertainment Tonight.

"You know, that's kinda been her brand, to have fun. [She's] real witty, so certainly."

Ryan agreed, adding, "She was very good. Meghan is a super talent too, and she's got a great sense of humor. She's fun and she's spontaneous."

After Meghan shared photos and videos of her on set, fans raced to the comments to encourage the pop star to join the show.

"I can see Meghan being Katy's replacement for next season!" one fan wrote.

"This is such a great fan theory! We couldn't agree more!" another replied.

"Meghan should be Katy's replacement," asserted a third.

However, if Idol producers don't take their advice, Luke admitted he has other names he thinks they should consider.

Idol's other judge, Lionel Richie, 74, echoed the same thought to the outlet, dropping big names like Kelly Clarkson and Taylor Swift.

"It's gotta be fun, but no ego. Because we're gonna insult each other so much," the All Night Long singer continued.

"And when you're with Luke, he doesn't know he's killin' ya."

Katy announced earlier this year that this season would be her last.

The Dark Horse singer has been a judge for seven seasons before deciding to move on from the ABC show.

Meghan is a super talent too, and she's got a great sense of humor. She's fun and she's spontaneous.

She revealed her decision on Jimmy Kimmel Live, saying, "So I think this will probably be my last season for Idol.

"I love Idol so much. It’s connected me with the heart of America, but I need to feel that pulse of my own beat.

"I love the show so much, but I wanna go and see the world and maybe bring new music."

Katy added, "Well, you know, this fall, this September, I’m going to be doing this huge music festival in Brazil called Rock in Rio. It’s really exciting."

KATY'S PLANS

The performer then teased that she would consider returning to the panel one day.

She also confessed that her co-stars weren't aware of her decision to leave the show and were hearing the news with the rest of the world.

Idol has yet to announce who will occupy the middle seat on the panel after Katy.

The Fireworks singer previously said she wanted to spend more time with her daughter, Daisy Dove, 3, and fiance, Orlando Bloom, 47, and focus on her music career.

Katy has also recently stirred up rumors that she's expecting her second child, though she hasn't addressed the chatter.
