America’s Got Talent 2024 LIVE — Sofia Vergara breaks down in tears after Stephanie Rainey’s performance

AMERICA'S Got Talent has brought on another round of auditions - and one performance left a judge in tears.

Contestant Stephanie Rainey graced the stage and performed her original song Please Don't Go.

The song was about losing her nephew when he was less than a year old.

Sofia Vergara was shown sobbing multiple times throughout the performance.

Rainey received all yeses from the judges and will be moving on in the competition.

AGT airs next Tuesday at 8 pm ET on NBC. Fans without cable can stream new episodes with subscriptions to Sling and Peacock.

  • Judges share thoughts

    Sofia wipes away tears from her eyes after the heartfelt performance from Stephanie.

    Howie says very few acts move people and that was one of the most emotional moments they had on the season.

    Heidi says it was "just a special moment."

    Simon says this performance was the best by a mile and calls Stephanie's voice "beautiful."

    The judges all say yes and Stephanie is moving on!

    Massimo says he is controlling a drone with his brain waves but the judges are not particularly fans.

    They all say no and he will not be moving on!

    Sofia did not enjoy the presentation but Heidi says it was interesting.

    Howie says he can appreciate the act and Simon disagrees and doesn't like the act.

    Howie says no.

    Heidi and Sofia say yes.

    And Simon says no and Florian is not going through.

    Simon says he didn't know what would happen next.

  • Host thinks change is 'incredible'

    Host Terry Crews thinks the new Golden Buzzer rule is "incredible."

    "What would happen would be the judges would see all this tremendous talent and they would end up apologizing," he said.

    "They're like, 'Man, if I had another one, I would hit it.'"

    "We said, 'Give them another one!'" Terry shouted.

    "And what we found is that there was not one Golden Buzzer wasted because there's so many deserving talents out there."

    "It's so incredible. I think that the show needed more and now we finally got it and I think everyone is going to be happy," Terry ended.

  • New Golden Buzzer explained

    This season, each of the judges have two Golden Buzzers instead of one.

    Host Terry Crews still just has one.

    There are nine total Golden Buzzers this season.
