Sounds like Bill Hader definitely has rizz. If Rachel Bilson’s confession about what she missed most about dating him wasn’t convincing enough, just listen to how his current girlfriend, Ali Wong, talks about him. On Sunday — the final night of her sold-out 12-day Netflix Is a Joke Fest residency — Wong described how Hader made his first move.

“I get a phone call from this guy who I met at a dinner party in the past, and he got my number from a mutual friend,” she said about Hader, per Rolling Stone. “He was like, ‘Hey, I just happened to hear the news about your divorce, and I’ve had a crush on you forever. I actually told my best friend years ago that you were my dream girl, and I know it sounds crazy, but I want you to be my girlfriend.’”

Wong said she was initially hesitant, since she had just signed up for a dating app. “I was like, ‘I just paid $25. You seem really nice, but I gotta get my money’s worth.’” But Hader was persistent, sending flowers to every hotel she stayed at during a trip to Europe. Wong’s friends weren’t crazy about the move, though. “That’s how cheap and lazy men have become,” Wong said. “When a fellow man commits any act of kindness, any romantic gesture, it must be a symptom of an undiagnosed mental illness.”

Wong and Hader briefly — and one might say secretly — dated in 2022, following her divorce filing from Justin Hakuta in April of that year. It’s unclear when Wong and Hader broke up, but in April 2023, a rep for Hader confirmed to ET that the two were dating again, surprising all the people who didn’t realize they’d dated before. Earlier this year, they hit the awards circuit together, sharing a romantic kiss at the Golden Globes, the Emmys, and the Critics Choice Awards.

Before ending her set on Sunday, Wong asked the audience, “Do you know who my boyfriend is? Do you want to meet him?” Hader then strolled onstage, gave Wong a kiss, and congratulated her on making her work look “effortless.” Before walking off the stage, he shouted, “Ali Wong is off the market.”
