Less than a week after announcing she’s pregnant with her third child, Cardi B revealed that she recently had a “freak accident” that left her feeling “paralyzed” and landed her in the hospital for three days.
“I was going down the stairs and I slipped a little,” she said on X Spaces on Tuesday, according to a recording by E! “I was gonna fall. I practically fell. I was trying to prevent myself from falling, so I was holding myself on the railing. My foot still slipped, and I kind of busted my ass.” When she tried to stand up, she “felt a weird jerk, like a pop, and I couldn’t get up, really.”
She said she called her dad to help her stand, but when he arrived, he noticed that she couldn’t walk. Cardi said she also felt pain in her stomach and decided to take a nap, hoping she’d feel better after. “When I woke up, I couldn’t move my bottom at all,” she said. “Just moving my feet was hurting the bottom of my stomach. I couldn’t move; I felt paralyzed.”
Cardi said she was rushed to a hospital in an ambulance and doctors told her she had torn a ligament in her pelvis. She said she was also afraid she was going into labor, saying she was in pain and having contractions and wasn’t able to move for 24 hours. She said the incident “almost cost me my little one to come. But it didn’t.”
The rapper is expecting her third child with soon-to-be ex-husband Offset. She revealed her pregnancy last week, a day after filing for divorce from Offset for the second time.
