During Tom Brady’s Netflix roast in May, former NFL star Rob Gronkowski threw a jab at ex–Patriots coach Bill Belichick’s personal life. “Coach, you used to talk about Foxborough High School when we sucked,” Gronk said. “But now I know why you were so obsessed with Foxborough High School: You were scouting your new girlfriend.”
While the joke got laughs at the time, it largely flew under the radar. But since TMZ reported last week that Belichick, 72, is dating Jordon Hudson, a 24-year-old former competitive cheerleader, it’s having a second wind. For those struggling to do some quick math, that’s a 48-year age gap between Belichick and his new girlfriend.
Hudson reportedly met Belichick in 2021 on a flight from the Boston area to Florida. One of her former cheerleading teammates told TMZ that the two “bonded over a philosophy project the student-athlete had been working on.” Hudson, who describes herself as a “philosopher” and “glamorous girl scout” in her Instagram bio, won a national cheerleading championship while studying at Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts. Before parting ways, Belichick reportedly autographed Hudson’s textbook on logic. In addition to his signature, he listed the years of his Super Bowl wins and wrote, “Jordan, Thanks for giving me a course in logic! Safe travels!” according to a photo of the message, which an ex-classmate of Hudson’s shared with TMZ. The two then exchanged numbers and stayed in touch, chatting about “her school work and the X’s and O’s of her cheerleading routines,” as TMZ puts it. The couple apparently began dating the next year, after Belichick’s 16-year relationship with his previous partner, Linda Holliday, ended.
Although they’ve largely kept their relationship private, Hudson attended some of Belichick’s games in 2022 and 2023 and was spotted with him in New Orleans in January 2023 and again in August. Belichick was seen in the back row of a cheerleading competition in the Washington, D.C., area in March, while Hudson attended Brady’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony earlier this month alongside the former Patriots coach, according to the Daily Mail. Meanwhile, the Daily Mail claims to have Ring doorbell footage of Belichick leaving Hudson’s Massachusetts home back in November. Hudson and Belichick were also spotted together in Nantucket last week, casually walking down a dock to Belichick’s boat.
It seems as though the couple might even be getting kind of serious. This week, TMZ reported that Hudson had moved into Belichick’s Hingham, Massachusetts, home months ago. First comes love, then comes moving into his house, then comes … a Porsche! Hudson was recently spotted arriving to cheer practice in a shiny new Porsche Macan S. “Page Six” reports that the $74,500 ride was a gift from Belichick.
There’s plenty to unpack here, but for now, credit where credit is due to Gronk for first surfacing this new addition to the age-gap discourse.
