If you woke up this morning wondering what’s happening on right-wing social media this week, do I have news for you: An aggressively tan white woman named Lilly Gaddis recently used the N-word in a TikTok video and has seized on the incident not to learn and listen but to launch a career in conservative media. It gets only more appalling from there. Ready to dive in?

Who is Lilly Gaddis?

Since Gaddis’s TikTok account has been taken down since her racist video blew up, it’s a little hard to tell what exactly her content was like on there before this week. According to the New York Post, she’s based in North Carolina and her real-life job (until recently) was in sales at a home-health-care company called Rophe of the Carolinas. A lot of publications have described her as a “self-proclaimed trad-wife,” and though it’s not clear if she’s married, she certainly seems to have expressed a lot of ultra-conservative opinions. The videos that have been screen-recorded include content that ranges from anti-masking rants to casually tossing around words like “gay” and “retarded.” She appears to film many of them in her kitchen, prepping food in an apron while making sweeping statements like “Worrying about getting your perfect six-pack is a little gay” and “Fuck you and your stupid gay masks!” According to the Daily Mail, this stuff had gotten her more than 45,000 followers on the since-suspended account.

And what did she do?

In a video that seems to have been posted sometime over the weekend, Gaddis was in the middle of one of her diatribes when things took a turn for the truly abhorrent. “I’m sick and tired of certain guys thinking that all girls are gold diggers,” she began, dumping seasoning into a glass bowl of what appears to be raw meat. “You’re getting the opinion of some dumb whores and immigrants fresh off the boat looking for a green card.” Mid-olive-oil-glug, she explained, “Yes, they are probably gold diggers, but that is the exception — I am the rule.” She went on, “Everyone I know that is married right now is married to broke-ass [n-word]s, and they don’t care. We don’t give a fuck about your money.”

Is Gaddis sorry?

In case you’re still wondering about the point Gaddis was trying to make, she later clarified that what she really wants in a partner is not money but that “if somebody broke into our house at 3 a.m. you would know how to grab a gun and shoot a motherfucker.” With regard to the language she used to express that sentiment, she does not appear to regret it in the least. When one commenter asked in disbelief, “MARRIED TO WHO???” she retorted, “You heard me.” By Tuesday evening, her TikTok account was suspended, and she posted a screenshot of the app telling her a post had violated community guidelines on her Instagram story with the word “Lame.”

As clips of her using the N-word made the rounds on social media, Gaddis released a slew of unapologetic tweets and videos. In one posted later on Monday, she said, “A recent video of mine seems to have upset members of a certain community. All the backlash just really made me do a deep dive. Do a soul search. After all that, I still couldn’t find a care.”

Gaddis also does not seem deterred by the fact that she seems to have lost her job. Between a tweet about how she’s “stocked for the animals to try and jump me” and a thank-you to the “black community for helping to launch my new career in conservative media,” she announced on Monday, “Oh no I just got fired! #mob.” On Tuesday, a statement released by Rophe described a “recent incident that has caused concern and upset among our stakeholders.” Referring to a “newly hired employee” who “made inflammatory remarks on social media,” Rophe confirmed that the employee is “no longer with our company.” Yesterday, Gaddis claimed in yet another tweet that she actually “stepped away” from her job so that her former boss “would not lose her business,” adding, “Leave her alone ya’ll, the woke mob is the real problem here.”

Meanwhile, she has indeed found a community in the right-wing media audience. For her first public interview, she appeared on InfoWars to talk about how freedom of speech is “under attack” and how there’s “not a lot of racism in this country.” Okay, but has she heard herself speak?
