Search for new CT Port Authority leader continues

The Connecticut Port Authority is continuing its search for a new executive director, with a meeting planned later this month with one candidate and the group’s Board of Directors.

During a special virtual board meeting Tuesday, member John Johnson said search committee members have conducted a second interview with one unnamed candidate who “seems to be in a strong position.”

Johnson said he hopes to fly the candidate in within the next 10 days to meet with the board. He said another potential candidate – who he acknowledged was familiar to some board members, but also did not identify ― is fine tuning his resume ahead of possibly submitting it for scrutiny.

Ulysses Hammond, the group’s former interim executive director, retired last month.
