The Biology Department removed all concentrations from the undergraduate major over the summer, and protesters on Saturday braved sudden inclement weather to rally against a proposed Chinatown arena.

But first, The Daily Pennsylvanian sat down with Interim President Larry Jameson for his first press interview since assuming the presidency to discuss his tenure thus far and the controversies that he inherited relating to the Israel-Hamas war, Palestine Writes Literature Festival, and student activism.

Interim President Larry Jameson took office at perhaps the most tumultuous time in recent University history — with protests embroiling campus throughout the 2023-24 academic year related to the Israel-Hamas war. 

In his first interview with the press since he became interim president in December 2023, Jameson spoke with the DP about his response to allegations of antisemitism on Penn's campus, his perspective on academic freedom and institutional neutrality, and how he differs from former Penn President Liz Magill.
