Gary Remafedi is director of the Youth and Aids Projects and a professor of paediatrics at the University of Minnesota. He completed his paediatric residency training at Cook County Hospital, Chicago, and joined the adolescent health programme in 1985 as an instructor of paediatrics at the University of Minnesota, where he earned tenure in 1996 and promotion to professor of paediatrics in 2002. He a member of the editorial review boards of the Journal of the American Medical Association, American Journal of Public Health and Pediatrics
