Billy Porter and Gabrielle Union will be coming to your TVs soon. Not that they ever left.

Deadline reports the Pose star and the L.A.’s Finest lead are teaming up for a queer teen comedy film at Amazon, tentatively titled To Be Real. Union’s production company I’ll Have Another sold the film to Amazon Studios, while Porter is set to direct based on a script by Ryan Shiraki.

According to Variety, To Be Real’s logline describes the movie as “an LGBTQ Superbad crossed with Booksmart.” More specifically, it’ll follow three queer high schoolers journeying to their first New York Pride parade.

This will be Porter’s second directorial feature. His first is What If?, a forthcoming drama that also takes place in high school. It stars former them. assistant editor Eva Reign alongside Renée Elise Goldsberry (have you watched her Peacock show Girls5Eva? Because you should) and Abubakr Ali (who recently recurred on Katy Keene.)

The storyteller will make her leap to the big screen in the Pose star's directorial debut.

Porter, who is never not on a hot streak these days, will next be seen in Amazon’s musical film Cinderella. He’s also nominated at next month’s Emmys for his third consecutive Best Actor in a Drama Series award, for his work as Pray Tell on Pose.

The show, which wrapped its third and final season in June, received nine Emmy nominations this year. This includes Mj Rodriguez’s historic nomination for Lead Actress in a Drama Series. She is the first trans person nominated for a lead acting Emmy.

As for Union, she’s keeping equally busy. In addition to publicly raising her trans daughter Zaya with her husband Dwyane Wade, she’s starring alongside Zach Braff in Disney+’s upcoming remake of Cheaper by the Dozen.
