BT Sport will broadcast WWE beginning in the New Year, but Owens has told Sutton to keep clear if he wants to avoid a nasty confrontation.

Owens vented about Sutton before tearing a picture of the BT Sport pundit in half in the sports-entertainment style promo video.

Speaking in the video, Owens said:"Chris Sutton I hear you talk a lot of trash.

"But with a face like that I'm not sure what trash you're talking about.

"You should be talking about yourself if you want to talk about trash.

"Look at yourself.

"Come near me and I'll stun you out of your shoes.

"No more Chris Sutton."

Sutton responded to the message with his usual quick-wit as he quipped: "Wrestling is for guys who aren’t good enough to box @FightOwensFight..."

But Celtic idol Sutton has back up in the form of Scottish NXT UK competitor Joe Coffey.

Coffey, who is a Hoops fan and member of the all-Scottish 'Gallus' faction, has come to Sutton's aid as he hit back at Owens.

Posting on Twitter, Coffey wrote: "Right do what you want in @WWE @WWENXT @FightOwensFight

"Say anything about the hero @chris_Sutton73 you'll be getting a left, right, left, good night to your Jaw son. GALLUS BHOYS. OK. Kevskelper."

WWE fans' favourite Owens uses a variation of Stone Cold Steve Austin's 'Stunner' as his finishing move in matches.

He has held the NXT, Intercontinental, United States and Universal Championship title during his five year career in WWE.
