Greg, known for playing Victor McDade in Scotland’s favourite sitcom, portrays a barman telling Wolverine to get the f**k out of his bar just as Deadpool arrives to cause chaos.

In a nod to Still Game, one fan wrote on X: “Is that Greg Hemphill? Is Wolverine drinking in an alternative universe Clansman?”

Another quipped: “I need to know, is that Scotland and Canada’s own Greg Hemphill? If it is, then you've just got the whole of Scotland watching.”

While someone joked: “Greg Hemphill being in the Marvel Cinematic Universe wasn’t on my bingo card today but oh well.”

Deadpool & Wolverine, which is released on July 26, reportedly has a massive £200million budget.

The official synopsis for Deadpool & Wolverine reads: “Wolverine is recovering from his injuries when he crosses paths with the loudmouth, Deadpool. They team up to defeat a common enemy.”

It’s a far cry from Hemphill’s portrayal of pensioner Victor - a role he enjoyed for more than 20 years until the show ended in 2019.

But he’s not the first Still Game star to swap Craiglang for Hollywood.

His fellow co-creator Ford Kiernan, 62, made an appearance in 2002 Martin Scorsese epic Gangs of New York alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, 49, and Daniel Day-Lewis, 66.

Hemphill recently made his telly return in BBC sitcom Dinosaur.

The six-part series, created by British American writer Matilda Curtis and Scots stand-up Ashley Storrie, was filmed in Glasgow and also feature his former co-star Sanjeev Kohli.

It follows the life of autistic woman Nina, played by Ashley, whose sister Evie (Kat Rooney) rushes into an engagement after only six weeks.
