A MUM has asked strangers online to help fund her family's summer holiday this year.

Zoe, from the UK, took to social media to ask others to help her get more money into her bank for her getaway - without actually taking any cash from them. SMART!

The mum-of-two explained that she had been on TikTok for over three years - where she has made a name for herself as a cleanfluencer doing cleaning videos in an attempt break the taboo around 'messy' family homes and in an effort to help those suffering with mental health issues - and was part of the creator fund, which sees the social media app pay the makers of popular videos over a certain length.

Zoe revealed exactly why she was asking strangers amongst her following to help her get some extra cash.

"My plan actually is to use TikTok to pay for a family holiday this year," she explained.

"Now, I'm not exactly talking about the Maldives, I don't want anything fancy.

"I'm talking Butlin's. Ha!

"I just want to take the girls to Butlin's."

Zoe was looking to make £600 via TikTok views to pay for the holiday using the creator fund, so filmed a minute-long video of her cleaning her kitchen.

TikTok bosses say: "The funds that each creator can earn are worked out by a combination of factors - including the number of views and the authenticity of those views, the level of engagement on the content, as well as making sure content is in line with our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.

"No two creators or videos are the same, and there is no limit to the different kinds of content we will support with the fund.

"The Creator Fund total varies daily and is dependent on the amount of videos published by our community that day - so this will fluctuate based on the amount of content being published."

The clip posted to her TikTok account @journeytoabetterzo has since gone viral with over three million views and 500k likes.

People were quick to rally behind the mum.

"YEASSSSSS GO TO BUTLIN'S,” said a fifth.

And it seemed the mum's call out to help has finally paid off as she has now made enough to get her family away for the summer.

Someone else added: “Hi how are u and your girls getting on so far."

"We've booked," replied Zoe.

It was amazing how quickly Zoe - who works full time running her own cleaning business -  managed to raise the funds and the mum also hinted with even more views she might be able to treat the family to a 'food package' too.

Zoe has racked up over 60K followers on TikTok since joining and works hard to highlight how many Brits with different situations and issues including depression, anxiety and chronic illness that can lead to a messy home.

Zoe’s aim is to show support for people and highlight that it isn’t impossible to get yourself vicious circle of an untidy home, and ultimately that it is nothing to be ashamed of.
