Little-known shop to get Christmas treats including Hotel Chocolat for up to 60% off – and prices start from 39p
THERE is a little-known shop where you can get Christmas chocolate including Hotel Chocolat at hugely discounted prices.
The specialist retailer stocks many popular household brands for as little as 39p.
Approved Food is an online supermarket that gives shoppers the chance to buy their favourite branded items for less.
The products are either near or have gone past their "best before" dates which means that supermarkets are not able to sell them.
However, all of the goods are still within their "use by" date which means they are perfectly safe to consume.
Best before tells you how long you've got until the product loses its quality whereas use by means it must be consumed by that date.

At the time we checked on their website, the retailer had some great offers on Christmas goodies.
You do need to bear in mind that stock levels can change all the time and will depend on what the company has picked up from supermarkets.
We spotted the Hotel Chocolat classic Christmas box at £6.99 each down from its usual retail price of £14.95.
If you were to buy more than one you could get an even better offer as the price reduced to just £15 for three.

This item is currently retailing on the Hotel Chocolat and John Lewis website for £15.45 each.
Ferrero fans will also be pleased to know that you can get a large gift box of Raffaello coconut almond pralines for £9.
The same 400g luxury hamper costs £12 at the moment on Ocado.
Also on offer was a Lindt luxury 1.4kg gift hamper reduced from £38.95 to £30.
The gift hamper includes a selection of Lindor truffles, pralines, recipe bars and hot chocolate - the perfect gift for any Lindt lover.
While we could not find this exact hamper in other supermarkets, similar-sized ones are retailing for around £55 on the Lindt website.
Another great treat for chocolate lovers over Christmas is the Kingsbridge chocolate set of five marshmallow dark hot chocolate spoons.
This was showing low in stock when we checked but discounted from £9.99 to just £5.
We found the same hot chocolate spoons on Amazon for £20, however, other retailers had similar products.
Tesco has a pack of two hot chocolate spoons for £3.50 and John Lewis has a pack of three for £10.
It is super easy to order from Approved Food, you just need to create an account before adding items to your basket - just like you would any other online supermarket.
The cost of delivery varies depending on how big your order is but it costs £3 for boxes up to 25kg, £5 for 50kg boxes, or £9 for boxes up to 75kg.
If your order comes to more than £55 delivery is free.
Approved Food lists many items across different categories from household cleaning and pet supplies to beauty products and baby care.
For instance, the cheapest item we could find was a 150ml can of Schweppes tonic water for 39p, saving 26p a can on the usual retail of 65p.
You could also get this item for less if you bought more than one as it was on a three for 99p deal.
There are many great offers to be had on the Approved Food website but it is always best to shop around to make sure you are getting the cheapest deal.
You can use sites such as Google Shopping and Trolley.co.uk to compare the prices of items online with other retailers.
