HOSTAGES held by Hamas have been subjected to rape and “sexualised torture” which may be continuing, a United Nations probe found.

The terror group has always denied its gunmen sexually assaulted women during its October 7 attack on Israel.

But a team led by Pramila Patten, the UN’s representative on sexual violence in conflict, spoke to witnesses and survivors and found sex attacks happened at a minimum of three locations including the Nova music festival site.

The report also concluded there was “clear and convincing information that sexual violence, including rape, sexualised torture, cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment” had been committed against hostages.

Investigators also had “reasonable grounds to believe such violence may be ongoing”.

Israel wants a list of all surviving captives before agreeing a six-week ceasefire.

But Hamas said it had lost track of many.

Spokesman Basim Naim said: “It is now impossible to know exactly who is still alive and who has been killed because of the Israeli bombardment, or because of starvation from the blockade.

“The hostages are in different areas with different groups and therefore we have called for a ceasefire to be able to collect the data.”

Qatari-brokered talks have been hampered by the disappearance of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.

It is thought about 130 out of 253 hostages dragged to Gaza remain, though many have died.

Hamas claims Israeli strikes have killed some, including seven last week.

And the Israel Defence Forces believe hostages are being used to shield Hamas chiefs.

The Sun Says

SINCE the October 7 horror the United Nations has proven no friend of Israel.

Even before those atrocities it passed far more resolutions condemning that liberal democracy than the world’s most rancid dictatorships.

And its Gaza staff are so close to the Hamas terrorists that some actually ARE Hamas terrorists.

So it is eye-opening to hear the UN concede it now has “convincing information” that Jewish hostages in Gaza have been raped and sexually tortured and that on October 7 Hamas DID gang-rape victims, some already dead.

What now for the pro-Hamas Left?

To avoid siding with rapists they have always pretended these abhorrent crimes did not happen.

We won’t hold our breath for any contrition.

Meanwhile the hate marchers of the “Palestine Solidarity Campaign”, beloved of some Labour MPs, invite a notorious plane hijacker and October 7 denier to speak at their next fund-raiser.
