JR was prescribed several rounds of radiation to eradicate it and doctors successfully finished the treatments this week.

The AEW star confirmed he has beaten the illness and will be returning to work at Tony Khan's promotion.

Ross tweeted: "I’m CANCER FREE! We did it!"

The marvellous news was received with glee by several famous personalities within pro wrestling.

Former WWE announcer Renee Paquette replied: "This is great!"

AEW star Dax Harwood posted: "Hell yeah. “Tougher than a $2 steak” never meant more than right now."

British Olympian-turned-wrestler Anthony Ogogo wrote: "Congratulations JR."

Ross is considered as arguably the greatest announcer in pro wrestling history following his marvellous WWE run, which started way back in 1993, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2007.

The 69-year-old has called some of the all-time greatest matches, like Stone Cold Steve Austin vs The Rock, Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker and Michaels vs Austin.

The American announcer left Vince McMahon's promotion in 2019 and quickly linked up with rival company AEW.
