  • Roll-up, roll-up for the big game

Erik ten Hag has been spotted stocking up on loo roll ahead of a huge clash against Liverpool.

The under-pressure Manchester United manager will look to keep his hopes of winning a trophy this season alive.

United welcome Liverpool to Old Trafford on Sunday for an FA Cup quarter-final tie.

The competition represents the Red Devils’ final chance of silverware this term.

Ahead of the match, Ten Hag has been pictured out shopping this week.

He was pictured holding toilet roll under arm whilst carrying a bag of shopping.

It comes after his players were seen heading for a team-bonding dinner ahead of the clash with Liverpool. Ten Hag goes into the match with his future at United still in doubt.

  • Pau wow! Prem giants eye Barca kid

Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly keen on Barcelona whizkid Pau Cubarsi.

The centre-back, 17, was man of the match on his Champions League debut on Tuesday as he marshalled Victor Osimhen in a 3-1 win over Napoli.

Sport  say Manchester City came in last summer for Cubarsi, whose contract runs until 2026,

He is believed to have a release clause of between £8.5million and £12.8m but Barcelona remain “confident” the defender will stay at the Nou Camp beyond the summer.

The LaLiga champions, who sit eight points adrift of leaders Real Madrid, have opened talks with Cubarsi about an increase in both his salary and release clause.

The club are keen to tie him down to a long-term deal, but will have to wait until January 2025 to make this happen.

This is due to a rule that states U18s can only commit to a team for a maximum of three years.

  • Fergie celebrates double by befriending Corrie star!

Sir Alex Ferguson struck up an unlikely friendship with a Coronation Street star while at the Cheltenham Festival.

The legendary ex-Manchester United boss was in a jubilant mood as two of his horses rode to victory on Day Three of Cheltenham to see him pocket a cool £275,000.

And he was certainly not acting in front of Corrie star Alan Halsall – who plays Tyrone Dobbs in the popular TV Soap opera.

The 82-year-old had four horses in action today.

Despite never winning at Cheltenham before, Ferguson caught the winning bug early on as Monmiral won the the 2.10pm Pertamps Handicap Hurdle to bank £56,270.

The trick was repeated in the next race as Protektorat came home to collect Ferguson’s second win of the day and bag whopping £218,398.

Speaking to ITV Racing following his first win, he said: “Well that was fantastic.”

Fergie didn’t manage to win the final race, though former Tottenham, West Ham and Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp did get a win of his own with Shakem Up’Arry to land £67,500.

  • Jarrad vs Gleison for Red Devils?

Manchester United are tipped to prioritise a top new centre-back over a new striker and anchorman in their summer transfer dealings.

Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite, fresh from his first England squad call-up, and Juventus' Brazil hero Gleison Bremer are expected to be on the defensive shortlist.

However, the Toffees, however, are keen to keep 21-year-old Branthwaite and could value him as highly as £75million.

And Bremer, 26, has a £43m release clause.

  • Jadon 'will not return if Ten Hag stays'

Manchester United are ready to take a £30million hit on Jadon Sancho, writes NEIL CUSTIS.

The player is refusing to return unless boss Erik ten Hag is sacked.

The winger, signed from Borussia Dortmund for £73m in 2021, is back on loan at the German outfit after his spectacular bust-up with ETH.

And SunSport understands Dortmund are ready to offer £35m to make the deal permanent this summer.

United chiefs have given up on any reconciliation between Ten Hag and Sancho.

The 23-year-old effectively called Dutchman Ten Hag a liar after the Old Trafford manager said he had not performed well in training.

Sancho refused to apologise and was made to train with the academy players before moving to Dortmund in January, where he has started to recover his form.

United’s new part owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has given no assurances to Ten Hag that he will be in charge next season and the club are closely watching Sancho’s performances in Germany.

  • Utd fans furious over missing out on Kudus

Mohammed Kudus' stunning solo goal for West Ham has left Manchester United fans fuming.

Supporters have claimed they "will never forgive" Erik ten Hag for not signing the former Ajax midfielder.

Ten Hag instead brought Antony to Old Trafford after his appointment in 2022. And Kudus showed United what could have been in the Europa League on Thursday.

The Ghanaian scored twice as the Hammers thrashed Freiburg 5-0 to overturn their first leg deficit and reach the quarter-finals.

His first goal was a sunning solo effort which saw him dribble from his own half before scoring.

He later added West Ham's fifth to wrap up a dominant display at the London Stadium.

Reacting to the goal on social media, one fan wrote: "I will never ever forgive Ten Hag for coaching both Kudus and Antony and choosing Antony to be the €100m signing."

Another added: "Ten Hag saw this everyday then proceeded to go with Mount and Antony over him."

  • Utd tipped to hijack Spurs' Timo bid

Manchester United have been backed to stun Spurs with a summer move for their loan striker Timo Werner.

Tottenham have been in pole position to make the ex-Chelsea striker's switch from RB Leipzig permanent in the summer for around £13million.

The Germany striker, 28, has notched two goals and two assists in eight games for Spurs.

That's despite his disappointing two years at Stamford Bridge, ending with a return to Leipzig in 2022.

And reports tonight claim United are now keen.

  • Prem clubs blasted

EFL chiefs have slammed Prem clubs and ORDERED them to come up with a cash deal to fund the pyramid.

On Monday, top flight clubs refused to even vote on the proposed extra £995m over six years that Prem chief executive Richard Masters wanted them to approve.

That was an embarrassing situation for the Prem, under pressure from Culture secretary Lucy Frazer to come up with the cash soon or risk a settlement being imposed by the planned Independent Regulator.

And after a meeting led by chief executive Rick Parry yesterday, the EFL board came out spitting tacks at the Prem and the clubs.

In a statement, the Board said: “We are clearly disappointed at the Premier League clubs’ repeated failure to put forward any new funding offer for the EFL that would have significant benefits for the entire football pyramid.

“The lack of positive progress once again demonstrates how difficult an issue this is for football to address, without independent input.

“Despite pressure from Government, fans and united voices across the professional game, the latest development represents a further setback.

“The EFL now awaits a formal update from the Premier League as to how it proposes to re-engage on its latest commitment to deliver ‘a sustainably funded financial agreement’.”

  • Fer-longs ahead!

Sir Alex Ferguson was busy celebrating at Cheltenham as he pocketed £275,000.

The legendary Manchester United boss saw Monmiral and Protektorat bring home wins on Day Three of the festival.

Ferguson was seen in a jubilant mood following the wins.

He was joined by a group of people who may be familiar faces for some.

From Premier League cult heroes and icons to a Coronation Street star and toy maker, the 82-year-old certainly had some characters around him.

But who are they and what do they do?

Alan Halsall will be a familiar face to those who watch Coronation Street. The 41-year-old is famous for playing Tyrone Dobbs in the TV Soap opera and is a huge Man Utd fan.

He won the 2013 British Soap Awards Best Actor award and the gong for the National Television Awards for Outstanding Serial Drama Performance.

He was seen celebrating Fergie's win by jumping up and down at the back of the group.

  • Red Devils backed to trigger Gleison clause

Manchester United are willing to pay Gleison Bremer's £43milion release clause, it's claimed tonight.

But Chelsea, Tottenham and Real Madrid are also being linked to the Juventus centre-back.

The former Torino star, 26, has won three Brazil caps.

And he's now become Juve's star defender - attracting growing interest from rival clubs this season

  • Sancho could dent Utd's Champions League hopes

Jadon Sancho's Borussia Dortmund heroics may have dented parent club Manchester United's Champions League hopes.

The winger scored his first Champions League goal since returning to the German club in a man-of-the-match display during Wednesday's 2-0 defeat of PSV as Dortmund triumphed 3-1 on aggregate.

However, that result could have harmed United's chances of qualifying for the competition next season.

Five things you didn't know about Jadon Sancho (2)

With the Champions League expanding from 32 to 36 teams, two nations are set to receive an extra slot - based on Uefa's coefficient rankings at the end of this season.

Germany now sit second thanks to Dortmund and Bayern Munich both progressing.

England are one place back in third after the group stage exits of United and Newcastle.

But the Prem could still secure an extra place - after Arsenal and Manchester City both made the last eight.

  • Red Devils and Gunners become Cub scouts

Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly keen on Barcelona whizkid Pau Cubarsi.

The centre-back, 17, was man of the match on his Champions League debut on Tuesday as he marshalled Victor Osimhen in a 3-1 win over Napoli.

Sport  say Manchester City came in last summer for Cubarsi, whose contract runs until 2026,

Although it is said that Spanish rivals Atletico Madrid are still interested in Greenwood.

  • Southgate explains Mainoo snub

Gareth Southgate has explained why he has chosen to leave Kobbie Mainoo, 18, out of the England squad for upcoming friendlies with Brazil and Belgium.

Mainoo has impressed for Man Utd this season and fans have been calling for the teen to get a call-up to the Three Lions senior team.

However Southgate has pointed to his age and development as the reasons for leaving him out of the squad for the time being.

He said: "I think that he's doing brilliantly for a young player and we're never slow to put a young player into seniors,

"But he's only had a handful of games and you have to be very careful development-wise in making those decisions at the right time.

"So we think ideally, we should allow him that space to develop at his own speed.

"He's not at the point in terms of number of games that Jude [Bellingham] and Bukayo [Saka] were when they came in for the first time.

"But I repeat: he's doing really well for a young player. He's a good footballer - you can see that.

"And he's getting some fabulous experience with Manchester United at the moment. And he looks a really good character."

  • Fergie wins big

Sir Alex Ferguson celebrated his first ever Cheltenham Festival win as Monmiral claimed victory in the Pertemps Network Final.

It is the biggest outsider to win at the festival so far this week as pre-race favourite Cuthbert Dibble had to settle for third.

Then, just minutes later, the Man Utd icon doubled his tally for the day as Protektorat scooped the Ryanair Chase.

A thrilling finale saw Fergie's horse jump the last in a cleaner fashion than Envoi Allen streaked away to claim the win.

And the two wins have raked in £275,000 - which will be shared out between the owners including Fergie.
