  • Man Utd's next fixtures

Manchester United are set for five fiery fixtures in the Premier League and FA Cup.

United face Everton at Old Trafford on Saturday before locking horns with rivals Liverpool in the FA Cup eight days later.

Big matches against Brentford, Chelsea and the Reds again - in the Prem this time - are next.

This comes amid a period of great pressure for under-fire manager Erik ten Hag.

  • Zinedine Zidane latest

Manchester United have not had any contact with Zinedine Zidane amid rumours suggesting they are looking for a new manager, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.

I’m aware there have been more reports about Erik ten Hag’s future at Manchester United, with Zinedine Zidane the latest name mentioned as a candidate for that job.

I must stress, though, that I’m not aware of contacts between Zidane and Manchester United so far.

Nothing is concrete on that, as of now.

  • Ten Hag potential replacements

Brentford boss Thomas Frank is one of three managers being considered to replace Erik ten Hag at Manchester United.

Ten Hag's future at Old Trafford is currently uncertain after a disappointing second season in charge.

It has been reported the Dutch tactician could be dismissed by United this summer.

According to ESPN, the Red Devils are now considering three potential replacements for the 54-year-old.

  • Andy Cole's top three

Manchester United legend Andy Cole brutally snubbed Manchester City's Erling Haaland and Bayern Munich's Harry Kane when picking his top three strikers in the world.

Instead, Cole picked Barcelona's Robert Lewandowski, Al-Ittihad's Karim Benzema and Al-Nassr's Cristiano Ronaldo.

At the peak of their powers, Lewandowski, Benzema... Benzema, oh my days.

"Probably you can say Ronaldo. The managers change [but] they've evolved their games, you know.

  • Jamaica want Greenwood

Manchester United loanee Mason Greenwood could soon return to international football as Jamaica's head coach has revealed he "would love" to coach the Getafe player.

Greenwood played just one senior game for England but is eligible to play for Jamaica because of his heritage via his mother's side.

The striker would be permitted to switch nations under FIFA rules as he played less than three games for England.

And head coach Heimir Hallgrimsson has admitted he would love to have the controversial player on his squad.

I really don’t like to talk about ‘what if’, but this, of course, has come to our mind.

I would love to have him in my team. Like all coaches, I would like to have the best players in our team, but it’s always up to the player himself if he wants to do it.

  • More on Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo stormed off the pitch after being subbed on more than one occasion during his second stint at Manchester United, but former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists he still behaved well.

When I was manager of Manchester United, I can’t remember too many problems from Cristiano Ronaldo.

It was the game against Everton when he walked straight off the pitch after I brought him on as a substitute, but there were more problems with him after I had left the club.

I had a good relationship with Cristiano and there’s loads of respect between us. I think he behaved really well in his disappointments when I was there.

  • Ron of a kind

Ex-Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed Cristiano Ronaldo kicked off when he was benched despite asking not to play.

Part of signing Cristiano Ronaldo was getting that passion from him, but that did have its complications.

You’ve got Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, who can learn from Cristiano as he’s the best, the most disciplined and he’s been the best player in the world, and you think he’s going to help them.

When he arrived at the club, he told me to start him for three games in a row, and then put me on the bench for the fourth game, but he’s so passionate so when I did that, he didn’t like it.

  • How Solskjaer was sacked

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed he knew he was getting the sack after a text message from Manchester United's hierarchy.

At half-time against Watford I knew, that's it. So the team talk at half-time was about 'Whoever wants to play can play, put your hand up if you don't want to play'.

Made a few changes, couple of the lads actually in tears, and they had a go. Then after the game I knew, but I didn't hear anything. But I still knew.

The next morning you get a text: 'I want to see you in my office'. So I knew. I'd just left my missus at the airport and then text her 'I think I'll be coming back with you'.

I took about five minutes with Ed [Woodward] and then stayed and spoke to some of the lads and did an interview because I needed to do it properly.

I've always seen managers leave it... like two months later they slag someone off... that's not me. I'm like 'No, I want to do it now, tell everyone I'm proud and privileged and move on'.

  • Darren Fletcher's new role

Manchester United technical director Darren Fletcher is set to be handed a new role.

According to The Telegraph, Fletcher's current title is "misleading" due to what he actually does at the club.

The same source suggests that it does not reflect the 40-year-old'as role at the club as he has been coaching and acting as the first-team liaison.

Fletcher is said to still be committed to working at Old Trafford despite interest from other clubs.

  • Cristiano Ronaldo 'mistake'

Manchester United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted the decision to bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford proved to be a mistake, as it required him to change how his team plays.

With the ball, with him in the team, it was no problem. But without him pressing, we had to change the different roles we’d gotten used to.

We were one of the highest pressing teams before Ronaldo joined.

We let Dan James go when Cristiano came in, and they’re two different types of players.

It was the right decision to make for me – but it didn’t turn out to be the right one.

  • Solskjaer's biggest transfer regrets

Manchester United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer opened up on his transfer regrets during his time as manager at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer revealed United came close to landing Jude Bellingham, Declan Rice and Erling Haaland during his three-year stint in charge.

I had him [Haaland] in Molde, for two seasons. The summer before I joined United, I rang the club and said ‘You’ve got to sign this boy – he’ll be top class’.

They said no – they had enough reports on players. Then I became the caretaker manager and we’d sold Haaland to RB Salzburg.

I told the club straight away to buy him while he has a release clause. We knew that then, and no one else would’ve paid the money - £20million, it would’ve been a bargain.

He [Bellingham] was in the building. I was there, Sir Alex Ferguson was there, Bryan Robson and Eric Cantona were all there that day.

We all spoke to him and sold it as well as we could. He knew what he wanted a certain amount of minutes in the first team. He was 17 at the time, and he was the most mature 17-year-old I’ve ever met – he had it all planned out.

  • Ten Hag losing confidence

Manchester United stars believe manager Erik ten Hag will be sacked this summer.

United are sixth in the Premier League table with 11 points separating them from the top four after being eliminated in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup as well as the Champions League group stage.

The Red Devils also face Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-finals, which is their last shot at silverware this season.

According to The Mail, there is belief within the squad Ten Hag will be sacked at the end of the campaign.

However, reports suggest the Dutch tactician still has support from the dressing room and he insisted he is "on the same page" as new investor Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

The pair met and held talks at the beginning of the year and the ex-Ajax manager has kept in close contact with Ineos chief Sir Dave Brailsford, who is Ratcliffe's right-hand man.

  • Roy Keane attacker charged

A football fan has been charged with allegedly headbutting Manchester United legend Roy Keane after a fight erupted during a match between Arsenal and the Red Devils.

Scott Law is accused of attacking Keane when he cheered a goal from his former club at the Emirates last year.

The 43-year-old is charged with common assault and is expected to appear at Highbury Magistrates’ Court on March 14.

Law, who is married with children, allegedly went for the former Republic of Ireland international on September 3, 2023.

The ex-midfielder had celebrated a last-minute goal from Alejandro Garnacho, which was later ruled offside.

A clip showed Keane’s Sky Sports colleague Micah Richards pinning a man against a wall following the confrontation.

  • Victor Osimhen boost

Manchester United are one of the favourites to sign Napoli star Victor Osimhen in the summer.

Osimhen is expected to be on the market with his contract including a release clause worth in the range of £94million.

United are eager to become more “forward thinking” with their transfer strategy under new investor Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

According to The Independent, the centre-forward is seen as an ideal signing due to his age and adaptability.

If the Red Devils bring the Nigeria international to Old Trafford he will provide a different option to Rasmus Hojlund up top, where Erik ten Hag’s team currently lack depth.

Anthony Martial is set to leave on a free transfer, while Marcus Rashford feels more at home on the left wing.

  • Marc Guehi boost

Crystal Palace are preparing for Marc Guehi's potential departure in the summer with Manchester United keeping tabs.

Guehi's performances have sparked immense interest from the likes of United and Liverpool, while Tottenham and Arsenal have also enquired in the past.

According to The Telegraph, Palace have compiled a list of potential candidates to replace the centre-back in a sign that chances of a potential exit have grown significantly.

The England international has only two years left on his contract, which means this summer may be his club's final chance to sell him for a significant fee.

The Chelsea academy graduate is reportedly worth more than the club-record £50million the Red Devils splashed for Aaron Wan-Bissaka in 2019.

However, a bid for the 23-year-old will largely depend on whether proposed sporting director Dan Ashworth, who is a big admirer of the defender, is appointed in time for the summer transfer window.

  • Man Utd legend to be handed new role

Darren Fletcher is reportedly set to be handed a new role at Manchester United.

The club legend has been working at the club as the technical director.

The Telegraph has claimed that the title is "misleading" due to what he actually does at the club.

The outlet suggests that it does not reflect his role at the club as he has been coaching and acting as the first-team liaison.

Fletcher is said to still be committed to working at Old Trafford despite interest from elsewhere.

The report claims that there are a number of clubs in the EFL who have previously shown an interest in the Scotsman.

The interest would have seen him leave the Red Devils and take up a job as a manager.

It is suggested that there is a "willingness from all sides" for Fletcher to stay at the club.

However, there would likely be a new role given to the retired midfielder to better reflect his work.

  • United look for head of recruitment

Man Utd are ready to make Crystal Palace chief Dougie Freedman their new head of recruitment.

Freedman has been Palace’s sporting director since 2017 and is credited with amassing some of the Premier League’s top young talents, including Eberechi Eze, Marc Guehi and Adam Wharton.

And The Independent report Ratcliffe is eager for the Scot to swap Selhurst Park for Old Trafford.

The Eagles are aware of the Red Devils' interest and will not stop the 49-year-old from leaving.

But Palace will offer him a new contract in the hope that he decides to stay and assist new manager Oliver Glasner.

United are eager for Freedman to join as soon as possible as they prepare for a big summer of change.

  • United keep tabs on De Zerbi

Brighton want a huge fee to part ways with Roberto De Zerbi this summer.

The Italian manager is in high demand after impressing on the South Coast, with Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool all keeping tabs.

The Telegraph claims Seagulls chiefs are reluctant to lose another progressive manager following Potter’s move to Chelsea in 2022.

Todd Boehly was forced to cough up a mind-blowing £21.5million for the Englishman and several staff members.

And while Brighton will not hold out for another audacious fee, they do want to bank at least £12m if De Zerbi leaves.

But the Italian insists he remains committed to his contract for the meantime.

  • Shearer takes swipe at United pair

Alan Shearer took another brutal swipe at Manchester United wingers Antony and Alejandro Garnacho.

When quizzed on his biggest pet hate on The Rest is Football podcast, he said: "Wingers cutting inside on their other foot and having a shot and not crossing it.

"That would do my nut in playing for Man Utd with those two, Antony and Garnacho, who keep doing that all the time."

  • Solskjaer reveals dreaded Man Utd text

Former Man Utd manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed he received a dreaded text from chief executive Ed Woodward before being sacked.

In November 2021, after a run of just one win in seven games, Solskjaer was axed following a 4-1 defeat to Watford.

And he has now confirmed it was a text from Woodward that led to his dismissal.

Speaking on Stick to Football, he said: "At half-time against Watford I knew, that's it.

"So the team talk at half-time was about 'Whoever wants to play can play, put your hand up if you don't want to play'. Made a few changes, couple of the lads actually in tears, and they had a go.

  • Osimhen race

Man Utd are emerging as one of the favourites to sign Victor Osimhen this summer, according to reports.

The Napoli star, 25, is set to be on the market with his contract including a release clause worth around £94million.

United are set for a big summer ahead, following the arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe as partial owner.

The Red Devils are eager to become more "forward thinking" with their transfer strategy.

According to the Independent, Osimhen will be seen as an ideal signing by United chiefs due to his age and adaptability.

Premier League rivals Chelsea and Arsenal are both keen on the former Lille striker - with one former Blues legend claiming Stamford Bridge is his favoured destination.
