  • Man Utd chiefs spotted meeting Barcelona's Deco

Man Utd chiefs John Murtough and Matt Hargreaves have been spotted in Barcelona amid speculation of a double transfer.

The secret meeting has fans convinced that both Mason Greenwood and Antony could join the La Liga champions this summer.

Footage captured by Spanish outlet Jijantes shows Murtough and his chief negotiator meeting with Barcelona sporting director Deco.

But the Manchester Evening News report that the footie bosses were only in the sunny city for what's been described as a routine meeting.

The gathering came just four days after Catalan-based news outlet Sport broke the news that Barca were keen to sign Greenwood.

  • Man Utd need to bring back 'clean' defending

Man Utd fans can look forward to a thrilling weekend as the Red Devils take on Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-final.

Jurgen Klopp's men have been on superb form despite the injury crisis in the squad.

Liverpool have had more shots in the Premier League than any other team this season, and only once have they failed to score, which was against United at Anfield in December.

On that day, Liverpool had 34 shots without scoring, to which Klopp praised Erik ten Hag's men's "clean and passionate" defending.

Now the Dutchman just needs to bring the same energy into this weekend's clash to keep the Reds out again.

  • Fans ask Argentina to 'leave' Martinez alone

Man Utd fans fumed “leave him alone” after Lisandro Martinez was called up by Argentina.

United fans have been left fuming at his call-up.

They believe Martinez should be left alone to continue recovering.

And with United struggling to impress, many feel the club should have blocked Martinez from being selected.

One said: “He is injured, leave him alone ffs.”

Another declared: “How can you call up a player just coming out of injury?”

One noted: “United should step in and stop this. The guy isn’t even back yet and they want him for some pointless friendlies.”

Another added: “We should stop this. They should leave him.”

  • Injured Martinez named in national squad

Lisandro Martinez has been named in the Argentina squad for their upcoming friendlies despite being injured.

The 26-year-old has been out since February after picking up a knee injury in the 3-0 win over West Ham.

He was ruled out for eight weeks and at best was set to return at the end of the month against Brentford.

But Martinez could first get a taste of action with Argentina after receiving an international call-up.

The world champions host friendlies against El Salvador on March 23 and Costa Rica on March 27.

  • Jules eyed for Theatre of Dreams

Manchester United have reportedly place Barcelona's Jules Kounde on their list of centre-back targets.

Sport say the former Arsenal-linked Frenchman is a top option alongside names like Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite and Juventus star Gleison Bremer.

  • Nacho tastier than expected

Rio Ferdinand has revealed Jonny Evans' surprise at a Manchester United starlet's progress.

And free-transfer re-signing Evans, 36, was NOT talking about Kobbie Mainoo.

Old Trafford legend Ferdinand told his FIVE podcast: “I went to Carrington the other day, the training ground, to do some filming.

“And Jonny Evans said he come back to Man United and obviously sees the players and and you expect ‘x’ from him and him etc.

"But he said I just thought (Alejandro) Garnacho would be an impact player from the bench, a sub.

“He said he’s one of our main, if not the go to guy now. And it tells you his development, he’s 19-years-old man.”

Three-cap Argentinian Garnacho is mainly a winger but has been used all across the front line, especially since injury to striker Rasmus Hojlund.

  • Christian tipped for crunch talks

Christian Eriksen is expected to tell Manchester United he wants to leave this summer.

TeamTalk suggest the midfielder, 32, is keen to make his feelings known to manager Erik ten Hag over lack of game time.

The former Spurs star has been limited to 11 starts in Premier League and Champions League games this season.

And although the emergence of 18-year-old Kobbie Mainoo has been brilliant for United, it has edged Eriksen further out of the first-team picture.

  • Micah snubs Utd & Arsenal icons as he names best pundit

Micah Richards has revealed who he thinks is the best pundit on television.

The former Manchester City defender, 35, has worked with big names on BBC's Match of the Day, Sky Sports while covering the Premier League and on CBS Sports as part of the Champions League team.

He has shared the studio with the likes of Manchester United legends, Gary Neville and Roy Keane, plus Alan Shearer and Arsenal icon Thierry Henry.

But Richards is convinced that Jamie Carragher is better than them all.

While discussing CBS Sports' popular banter-filled style of Champions League coverage, he told The Athletic: "We have got Carragher, the No1 pundit in England."

Kate Abdo reveals that Micah Richards flew in a day early for 'special treatment' ahead of Arsenal vs Porto clash

Carragher impresses viewers with his in-depth analysis of the Prem on Sky Sports but takes a more relaxed approach on European nights with the American broadcaster.

Richards said: "He has to sort of be a different Jamie on our show to make the show work."

  • Red Devils linked to Fofana

Monaco's Youssouf Fofana has been rated a contender to replace Manchester United midfielder Casemiro.

Fichajes say United boss Erik ten Hag is a big admirer of the 15-cap Frenchman.

  • Cillian makes Keane as the Peak star

Ireland's Cillian Murphy won the Oscar for best actor but still thinks Manchester United legend Roy Keane remains Cork's "number one".

The Hollywood star picked up the Academy Award as won of seven Oscars won by Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer movie.

Murphy, 47, and Keane, 52, are both from the Republic of Ireland's second-bigggest city, Cork.

And the Peaky Blinders actor was asked if he is the biggest celebrity from his hometown.

Murphy replied: "I mean, to me, no one will be more famous than Roy Keane coming out of Cork.

  • Champions League draw handed to computer

Uefa will use a computer to conduct next season’s Champions league draw - as doing it by hand would take four HOURS.

The expansion of the competition to 36 clubs and switch to a single league system rather than the traditional group phase means a very different draw will take place in Monaco at the end of August.

As many as SIX Prem teams would be involved if West Ham win the Europa League and England take one of the two extra places earned by performances across the three competitions.

The 36 qualified team will then be placed in four pots of nine teams, with each club drawn against two teams in each section.

But rather than each team being pulled from a series of hats, a computer system devised by Hertfordshire-based firm Alston Elliot will assign teams on Uefa’s behalf.

With clubs only playing their eight drawn rivals once in the initial phase, the computer will also determine the four matches a club plays at home and which ones are away.

  • Utd and Gunners take a Luca at defender

Arsenal are looking to beat Manchester United to Borussia Monchengladbach defender Luca Netz’s signature.

According to HITC, the Gunners are keeping tabs on Netz ahead of the summer transfer window.

In fact, the North Londoners have sent scouts to watch the left-back in action.

However, United are also keen on the 20-year-old and have also sent reps of their own.

The Germany Under-21 international has registered a total of 25 appearances this season.

  • Man Utd interested in Barcelona star

Manchester United are set to battle for Barcelona defender Jules Kounde this summer, according to reports.

Kounde, 25, who can play as both a right-back and centre-half, was heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge before he joined the Catalan giants from Sevilla on a five-year deal in 2022.

Sport understands Barcelona's sporting director Deco is looking to offload TWO centre-backs in the summer.

With Kounde set to be put on the transfer market - despite his preference to remain at the Nou Camp as the club are keen to sell to raise funds.

  • Man Utd’s wage bill rises to £384million a year

Manchester United's wage bill has risen again - 12 months after it was the highest in the Premier League.

The Red Devils have released their latest financial figures and they show that they look set to break annual revenue records.

They also revealed how, largely due to United’s participation in the Champions League, staff costs have increased at Old Trafford.

And they also show that the Glazer family received no dividends - something the Daily Mail says is likely to be the case going forward.

United had a whopping wage bill totalling £384.1m last season.

  • Man Utd half-year financial results

Man United half-year financial results have come in.

And the club reported according to reporter Rob Cross a £29.4m a profit from a £6.4m loss last year after a return to Champions League.

Mason Mount has finally returned to training.

The England international, 25, has endured an injury nightmare since joining from Chelsea in a £55million deal last summer.

Mount has not featured for United since sustaining a calf injury in November.

He last featured in the 1-0 win over Luton, but has now resumed training at Carrington.

It is reported that United have sent scouts to watch Merino as they consider making a summer swoop.

After months of wrangling and going head-to-head with Sheikh Jassim, Sir Jim Ratcliffe's Ineos finally purchased 27.7 per cent of Man Utd in a deal worth £1.03billion.

The Qatari pulled out of the race after he was unable to agree on a full takeover.

Ratcliffe was recently quizzed about his battle with Sheikh Jassim after the deal was finally rubber-stamped, and he cheekily joked that his rival does not exist.

The British billionaire responded with a cheeky dig, saying: “Still nobody's ever seen him.

“The Glazers never met him. He never... I'm not sure he exists.”

  • Diallo removes all reference to Man Utd on social media

Amad Diallo removed all reference to Manchester United on his social media accounts before appearing to close them completely.

The promising winger also posted a cryptic four-word bio on X, "This will all end" after changing his profile picture and cover photo.

    Credit: X

Diallo was again an unused substitute on Saturday as United beat Everton at Old Trafford.

And the 21-year-old changed his profile picture and cover photos showing snaps of him on loan at Sunderland last season.

Diallo scored 14 goals and provided four assists for Sunderland last season as they made the Championship play-offs.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano later posted a tweet apparently quoting Diallo from Snapchat.

It read: "I’ve deactivated my social media for a month just to focus on Ramadan. Stop the hatred, there’s nothing wrong with what I did.

“It’s holy month for me and social media is a place where there are bad things to see during fasting."
