The left-back has not featured all season due to a knee injury.

Ahead of today's clash with Everton, Ten Hag said of Malacia: "I think it's going to be difficult for him this season to be available.

"He will fight, he's back on the pitch, but not in the team and the process had some setbacks for him and he's still going forwards really slowly and the season is coming to an end.

"In December, I had the talks internally with the medical and performance [staff].

"They assured me they (Shaw and Malacia) will both be fit in January and so you will have two left full-backs."

  • RECAP - Man Utd to explore new stadium options

The major news out of the Red side of Manchester yesterday was the club's announcement around regenerating Old Trafford.

The club released a statement that revealed they have put together a task-force to explore options around a new stadium and the surrounding area.

The high-profile team is being headed up by Lord Sebastian Coe who will have help from Gary Neville, Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham and the Chief Executive of Trafford Council Sara Todd.

New minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe said: "This can be a major regeneration project for an area of Greater Manchester which has played such a key role in British industrial history, but which today requires new investment to thrive again.

“The north-west of England has a greater concentration of major football clubs than anywhere else in the world, yet we don’t have a stadium on the scale of Wembley, the Nou Camp or Bernabeu.

“We will not be able to change that on our own, which is why this task force is so important to help us seize this once-in-a-century opportunity.”

  • United Branthwaite blow

Manchester United have been handed a huge blow in their pursuit of Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite.

The Red Devils have been inked with a move for the 21-year-old who has excelled with the Toffees this seaon.

However Everton boss Sean Dyche has warned that the rising star is not for sale.

He said: "We don’t want to sell any good players, it’s as simple as that and he’s proven to be a very good player. We’re not in the business of trying to sell players.

"You only sell players if you have to sell players or there’s a problem. There’s no problem, therefore I’m just hoping we don’t need to sell players. At the minute, we certainly don’t so we will see."

  • No Gueye for Everton

Manchester United may not have to face former PSG star Idrissa Gueye when they host Everton tomorrow.

Toffes boss Sean Dyche has confirmed Gueye is a doubt for Saturday’s Premier League clash.

Gueye is currently dealing with a groin injury and faces a late assessment.

Dyche said: "Gana will be unlikely – but has a chance, I’d say. There are a few [other] knocks and bruises but everyone [else] should be alright."

  • Collymore backs De Zerbi

Stan Collymore has tipped Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi to take over from Erik ten Hag at Manchester United.

As the Dutch boss continues to be under the microscope at Old Trafford, De Zerbi has been linked with the potential vacancy.

And Collymore reckons he would be the right man for the job, labelling him as "world class".

Brighton and Hove Albion manager Roberto De Zerbi to Manchester United? — Absolutely!

I know the Seagulls’ recent results haven’t been anywhere near good enough but take nothing away from De Zerbi. He is a world-class coach but his personality and man-management skills also make him an ideal candidate.

He would not mess around there. He’d come in, make it known from day one who is in charge and he’d ensure every player there follows his every word, and if they don’t, he’d be ruthless enough to cut them loose, regardless of who they are.

  • EXCL: At the double

Manchester United defender Brandon Williams has been slammed after he left his £100,000 car in two disabled bays on the same day.

He parked his Land Rover Defender in a blue badge space at a supermarket.

Williams, 23, then drove around the corner on Wednesday to a multi-storey in Wilmslow, Cheshire, where they again parked in a disabled bay.

The full-back is currently on loan at Ispwich Town.

  • Neville names Ten Hag crunch games

Gary Neville has revealed which two fixtures he thinks will decide Erik ten Hag's future at Manchester United.

Ten Hag is under mounting pressure at Old Trafford with new minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe said to be pondering the Dutchman's long-term future.

And club legend Neville has named Man Utd's to upcoming clashes with Liverpool in the league and FA Cup as the games that could make or break the under-pressure boss.

I think for me for Ten Hag when you say what is critical, we’ve got Liverpool at home twice in the space of three weeks. I think those games can either be your friend or your massive enemy.

Losing away at Liverpool is bad when you’ve only got a few thousand United fans in the corner. If you’re at home in front of 73,000 United fans against Liverpool twice.

If Liverpool come and do us in the cup with 7,000 fans because you get a bigger allocation I do think those games are defining - the season will be over.

If we beat Liverpool in the cup it will be electric, it will be amazing and if we do alright in the league…I’m not saying we will, they are big games but it could give us impetus.

If we lose twice you can imagine what the atmosphere will be like. The season’s over with a month to go and I think it could be dead and it will be bad in terms of perception and feeling.

  • Man Utd in for Toney?

Transfer insider Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed Manchester United could move to sign Ivan Toney this summer.

Speaking to mybettingsites.co.uk, he said: "Arsenal, if they don’t get [Viktor] Gyokeres, Toney would be the logical step.

"It depends also on Juventus and Napoli strikers. Napoli will try to get a substitute for Osimhen and Juventus, if they sell [Dusan] Vlahovic, they will try to have a substitute for him.

"Vlahovic can be a striker for the Premier League market. For Arsenal or Chelsea.

"I think Toney is for the Premier League market. He could be at Arsenal or Manchester United if they decide to get a striker like him."

  • Huge game ahead

Manchester United welcome relegation battlers Everton to Old Trafford in tomorrow's early kick off.

The Red Devils are trying to avoid a third consecutive defeat in the Premier League.

Pressure on manager Erik ten Hag continues to mount and three points will be crucial in avoiding more attention on his team heading into the run-in.

  • Potential Ten Hag replacements

Erik ten Hag’s position at Manchester United is becoming increasingly uncertain.

Reports suggest new United investor Sir Jim Ratcliffe will look for a replacement in June.

Brentford boss Thomas Frank and Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi have been touted as candidates for the job.

While Gareth Southgate is another surprise name that's been rumoured.

SunSport also exclusively revealed ex-Chelsea boss Graham Potter is in the frame.

  • Southgate's hint at Prem return

Gareth Southgate previously hinted that he wouldn't be threatened by a return to Premier League management after his three year spell as Middlesbrough boss.

The England manager has been linked with the job at Manchester United as Erik ten Hag continues to be under pressure in the hot-seat at Old Trafford.

And new minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe may be buoyed by an interview in December in which Southgate hinted he would be open and able to take on a Premier League job in the future.

He said: ""Everybody would talk about Middlesbrough. ‘Oh, he got Middlesbrough relegated’.

“Well, yeah, in the third year, we got relegated. But I had three years of Premier League management.

“There isn't a job in world football that would intimidate or daunt you, having lived this one [England], frankly.

“You're not going to have any higher profile, you're not going to have any greater pressure, you're not going to have any more complex issues.”

  • BREAKING: Man Utd to explore new stadium options

Man Utd have confirmed that a joint task force has been created to explore options for regenerating the Old Trafford area.

An official club statement read: "A joint task force has been created to explore options for regenerating the Old Trafford area of Greater Manchester, with the development of a world-class football stadium at the heart of the project.

"The ‘Old Trafford Regeneration Task Force’ will bring together local leaders and national experts to examine how stadium development can support renewal of an area of the city with rich industrial history and huge potential for the future, and deliver social and economic benefits for the entire region.

"Chaired by Lord Sebastian Coe, former Chair of the organising committee for the 2012 London Olympics, the task force will assess the feasibility of a new stadium of national significance equipped to host international games and finals, as well as providing a modernised home for Manchester United.

"Other members will include Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, Sara Todd, Chief Executive of Trafford Council, and Gary Neville, former captain of Manchester United."

  • Ten talks

Erik ten Hag is convinced he would have won 75 of his first 100 games in charge of Manchester United without injury problems.

The Red Devils boss completed his century of matches in last week’s derby defeat.

Of those Ten Hag has won 60 which is a better record than both Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool and Mikel Arteta at Arsenal from their first 100.

But Ten Hag believes it could have been so much better and he has done the best he can with the players available.

Ten Hag said: “Imagine if they were available, we could easily have won from 75 games from 100. It tells that we are in the right direction.

“We could easily have 75 wins and that tells the bright future of this team.

“When you compare it with other managers, other teams, or previous managers in this big club you can see there is a bright future.

“It is a good balance in ages in this squad. Young players, middle-aged players.”

  • Man Utd vs Everton - Ones to watch

Alejandro Garnacho stole the show when the sides met at Goodison Park back in November.

United won the clash 3-0 but the moment of the match was the Argentine's potential goal of the season just three minutes in.

Garnacho smashed in a wonderful overhead kick which will give him plenty of confidence going into the reverse fixture.

The winger has scored five goals and assisted three more in 25 league games this season but has not scored since the win over West Ham in February.

Jordan Pickford has often proved to be Everton's savour over the last few troublesome seasons.

The England No.1 is one of the best goalkeepers in the league and is no stranger to pulling off some wonderful saves.

Pickford has continued to impress this season with eight clean sheets in his 27 appearances.

He has already made 80 saves in the league and will be key to the Toffees' success at Old Trafford.
