  • Eze blow

MANCHESTER CITY and Tottenham have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Eberechi Eze.

The Crystal Palace star has been heavily linked with an exit from Selhurst Park this summer.

Eze, 26, started the Premier League season in fine form and saw a wonder goal controversially ruled out as Palace lost to Brentford.

Palace has been determined to keep hold of the England international and demanded that his £60million plus £8m in add-ons release clause be met.

Gallagher's move looked to Atletico Madrid looked to be imminent but he has now been left in limbo.

Axed attacker Raheem Sterling wants Chelsea to explain his future

And his agent promptly issued a pressing statement - with three yeas left on his Stamford Bridge contract.

The statement included: “He returned to England two weeks early to conduct individual training, and has had a positive pre-season under the new coach, who he has developed a good working relationship with.

“He is committed, as ever, to delivering at the highest level for Chelsea FC and the fans, who he holds in high regard, and given his inclusion in official club pre-match material this week, our expectation was that Raheem would be involved in this weekend’s fixture in some capacity.

“As a camp, we have always had positive dialogue with, and assurance from, Chelsea FC in relation to Raheem’s future at the club, so we look forward to gaining clarity on the situation.

Casemiro has launched his bid to revive his Manchester United career in style.

But Jadon Sancho's future is up in the air again after he was left out of United's squad for Friday's 1-0 win over Fulham.

Many reckoned midfielder Casemiro would be eased out after his challenging 2023-24.

But Old Trafford boss Erik ten Hag praised the Brazilian's all-round contribution against the Cottagers, especially in helping the Red Devils keep a clean sheet.

Ten Hag said: “He was very important in and out of possession.

"This is the Casemiro we all enjoy.”

But despite the Dutch manager insisting his issues with Sancho were in the past, the English winger failed to impress him enough in pre-season to make United's first Prem squad.

That boosts the likelihood of an exit, possibly on loan, this month.

But the Ghanaian, 31, is in the final year of his contract.

And Emirates chief Mikel Arteta could prefer easing him out to help fund a long-term replacement.

The Times are the4 latest outlet to suggest Partey's future is far from certain.
