Man Utd transfer news LIVE: United ‘HIJACK West Ham Mazraoui deal’, Jarrad Branthwaite BOOST, Xavi Simons ‘interest’

MANCHESTER UNITED have hijacked West Ham's move for Bayern Munich right-back Noussair Mazraoui, according to reports.

It was reported that the defender was closing in on a move to the Hammers, but now the deal has collapsed, and United are said to be in 'advanced talks'.

In other news, the Red Devils have reportedly received a boost in their pursuit of Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite.

The 22-year-old is intending not to sign a new deal at Goodison Park unless they can match the £160,000-a-week being offered by the Red Devils, according to reports.

Elsewhere, the Red Devils are interested in a move for PSG star Xavi Simons, according to reports.

  • United Chilwell interest

Manchester United are targeting a shock move for Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell.

According to the Daily Mail, the Red Devils see the 27-year-old as an option to provide competition for Luke Shaw.

Chilwell missed Chelsea's final seven matches of last season due to a knee injury.

The former Leicester man currently has three years remaining on his deal at Stamford Bridge.

  • Man Utd almost signed Martinez

Manchester United came close to signing Aston Villa star Emiliano Martinez before ultimately opting for Andre Onana last year, according to the Argentina international's agent.

David de Gea left the Red Devils at the end of 2022/23 season, forcing the Red Devils to look for a new stopper.

Last year he was very close to Manchester United, the coach chose Onana, because he already knew him.

But everyone at Manchester United later maintained that the ideal goalkeeper to win was Emiliano Martínez.

  • Desire Doue transfer war

Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham are looking to immediately sign Rennes wonderkid Desire Doue.

SunSport understand United, the Blues and Spurs have been embroiled in a major bidding war for the versatile winger's signature during the summer transfer window.

However, the Premier League trio are facing stiff competition from Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain for the France Under-21 international.

Doue is a "top priority" for both Chelsea and Tottenham, who have already held talks with the player's camp as well as Rennes.

Negotiations are still "ongoing" between the Prem giants and the teenage sensation as well as his club.

Both London rivals are so keen on the Frenchman that they want a deal to be sealed by the end of the week.

  • Keane vs Neville

Manchester United legend Roy Keane told fellow club great Gary Neville off for bringing up Teddy Sheringham during a game.

The two United icons were filming a bit in which they guessed their former team-mates from clues.

Neville tried to see if Keane could guess Sheringham, and his first clue was, "You didn't like him".

The pundit then added: "That could be anybody. Jeez I have a list."

To which Keane hit back and said: "No, you shouldn't say that I didn't like him."

The outspoken Irishman then correctly guessed the retired striker very quickly.

Keane added: "No, that's wrong, I didn't mind Teddy. I just didn't get on with him. We had a fallout. It is just working."

  • Marc Guehi leaving

Marc Guehi is set to reject the offer of new contract at Crystal Palace leaving the club likely to lose their biggest three stars this summer.

Palace had been hoping to keep hold of Guehi for at least one more season, as they have already sold Michael Olise to Bayern Munich and Eberechi Eze has a £60million release clause, which Tottenham and Manchester City are willing to trigger.

The England defender has just two years left on his contract at Selhurst Park however, and without persuading him to sign a new deal Palace may be forced to cash in.

Palace want Guehi to sign a new contract which would include a release clause when he returns from the European Championship, but SunSport has learned he has no intention of doing so.

The 23-year-old is understood to be keen to explore his options this summer amidst interest from Manchester United, who have noted the ease with which he has adopted to playing as England’s left-sided centre-back in Germany despite being right footed.

Given Guehi has less than two years left on his contract Palace’s negotiating position is less strong and he is likely to be a cheaper option.

  • Cristiano Ronaldo statement

Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo spoke out for the first time after Portugal's heartbreaking exit from Euro 2024.

We wanted more. We deserved more. For us. For each one of you. For Portugal.

We are grateful for everything you have given us and for everything we have achieved so far.

On and off the field, I am sure that this legacy will be honored and will continue to be built. Together.

  • Jadon Sancho latest

Manchester United ace Jadon Sancho is set to return to the club this week with his Old Trafford future still up in the air.

Staff at United’s Carrington base are in the dark as to whether Sancho will resume with the main body of players who are due back for pre-season training.

They are usually given a breakdown – especially in the opening week - detailing things like return dates, who will be out on the pitch and when, as well as testing schedules.

Yet there is no indication as to what the winger's movements will be, or any sign of peace between him and Erik ten Hag.

  • Joshua Zirkzee agreement

Manchester United are close to sealing a deal for Bologna star Joshua Zirkzee.

United have agreed terms with Zirkzee but are yet to decide on how to structure a deal with the Serie A club.

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano reported that the terms have been sorted out between the striker and the the Red Devils.

Romano added that the Manchester giants need to decide on paying his £34million release clause.

It is suggested that United could negotiate fresh terms with the Italian side over the structure of the deal.

This means that the Old Trafford outfit could try to spread the cost over multiple years rather than pay the full fee immediately.

New terms could be preferred by Bologna as they owe 50 per cent of the transfer fee to Bayern Munich, this is due to a sell-on clause inserted in his contract when he left the Bundesliga giants in 2022.

  • Van Nistelrooy returns

Manchester United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy has arrived for his first day of work as pre-season training begins.

United stars have been enjoying their summer holidays following the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

One new face has been spotted as former player Van Nistelrooy has started his new job.

The Dutchman has joined manager Erik ten Hag's coaching staff after a year hiatus from football.

The 48-year-old was pictured arriving at the club's Carrington training ground.

  • Sancho’s Saka praise

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka was saluted by Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho, who shared his pain when they were targeted by trolls three years ago.

Saka, Sancho and United star Marcus Rashford all suffered vile racist abuse online after missing penalties in the Euro 2020 final defeat to Italy.

The ex-Borussia Dortmund star has now hailed the winger’s courage after he scored a late equaliser before exorcising his spot-kick demons to help knock out Switzerland.

Sancho posted on Instagram: “I’m so proud of this guy! You did it for me and Marcus brother.”

  • Brian Brobbey Exclusive

Manchester United and Arsenal are set for a £30million transfer war over Ajax star Brian Brobbey.

United manager Erik ten Hag knows Brobbey from his time at the Dutch giants and is eyeing a summer move.

The Gunners’ boss Mikel Arteta also feels the striker can provide an alternative option to injury-prone Gabriel Jesus in attack.

A host of Serie A clubs are keen on the Netherlands international too but it is understood the player has his heart set on a Premier League switch.

  • Federico Chiesa boost

Manchester United have been handed a huge transfer boost with Juventus ready to sell Federico Chiesa.

Chiesa's £150,000-a-week contract expires next year and transfer insider Fabrizio Romano claims he is not in the plans of new Juve manager Thiago Motta.

Motta is instead hoping to land a new winger once the Bianconeri complete a hat-trick of midfield signings.

And it’s reckoned the Italy international could be available for as little as £20million.

  • Van de Beek leaving

Manchester United have agreed to sell Donny van de Beek to Girona and will recoup just over £400,000 of the £40million they paid to sign him in 2020.

According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the deal could rise to just over £4m if performance figures are met once Van de Beek joins for an initial paltry fee.

The playmaker never managed to live up to his hype at Old Trafford.

And the Netherlands international's loan stints at Everton and Eintracht Frankfurt didn't help him.

  • Double deal close

Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Bologna star Joshua Zirkzee as they close in on a stunning double transfer that includes Bayern Munich ace Matthijs de Ligt.

United have been given the "green light" from both Zirkzee and De Ligt to join the club, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.

The Red Devils closed a deal with Zirkzee and now must simply decide whether to activate the £33million release clause, according to The Athletic.

De Ligt also appears to be closing in on a reunion with Erik ten Hag.

  • Sancho's return

JADON SANCHO is set to return to Manchester United this week with his Old Trafford future still up in the air.

Staff at United’s Carrington base are in the dark as to whether the winger will resume with the main body of players who are due back for pre-season training.

They are usually given a breakdown – especially in the opening week - detailing things like return dates, who will be out on the pitch and when, and testing schedules.

Yet there is no indication as to what Sancho’s movements will be, or any sign the United striker and Erik ten Hag have made their peace after last season’s bust-up.

He was banished from the first team set-up for claiming on social media that he was a scapegoat, after the manager axed him for a game at Arsenal because of his performances in training.

Sancho refused to apologise – sources insist he didn’t want it to be seen as an admission of guilt – and spent the second half of the season on loan to Borussia Dortmund.

  • Zirkzee 'almost there'

Joshua Zirkzee's move to Man Utd is almost there, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian transfer expert delivered this latest news on X.

He wrote: "Man Utd have now informed Bologna about agreement reached with Zirkzee over personal terms.

"All done also with JZ’s agent. Man Utd, talking to Bologna about new deal structure… or they can trigger €40m release clause."

  • Casemiro exit

According to Fabrizio Romano, Casemiro's exit from Man Utd is a 'concrete possibility'.

The Italian transfer expert took to X to discuss the Brazilian's future.

He wrote: "Casemiro’s exit from Manchester United remains concrete possibility for this summer. Saudi Pro League clubs are still in contact with his camp to discuss terms, as reported back in April/May.

"Man United are open to letting him leave in order to bring in new midfielder."

  • Doue deal

Manchester Untied are looking to sign Rennes wonderkid Desire Doue.

However, the Red Devils are set to compete with two other Premier League clubs for the 19-year-old.

SunSport understands United, Chelsea and Tottenham have been embroiled in a bidding war for Doue.

The versatile winger is also wanted by Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.

  • Brobbey chase

MANCHESTER UNITED and Arsenal are set for a £30million  war over  Brian Brobbey.

Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag knows the Ajax striker, 22, from his time at the Dutch club and is eyeing a summer move.

Gunners chief Mikel Arteta  also feels Brobbey can provide an alternative option to injury-prone Gabriel Jesus in attack.

A host of Italian clubs are keen on the ex-RB RB Leipzig man, too.

But it is understood the player has his heart set on a Prem switch.
Brobbey, who netted 21 times last season, is part of Holland’s Euros  squad.

  • Sancho latest

Juventus are reportedly poised to offer Man Utd a loan deal for Jadon Sancho.

The winger enjoyed a successful spell at Borussia Dortmund last campaign.

He is not expected to play for the Red Devils next season, after manager Erik Ten Hag was handed a new contract to stay at the club.

Now, Il Corriere dello Sport (via IlBianconero), say the Old Lady see Sancho as the man to ease their problems out wide.

  • Utd to hand Bayern £17m

Man Utd will have to pay Bayern Munich £17million to sign Joshua Zirkzee.

The German club had sell-on clause into the deal that originally took him to Bologna from the Bavarians.

Zirkzee was signed by Bologna on a permanent deal just two years ago.

  • Greenwood talks

According to The Athletic, Mason Greenwood is in 'advanced talks' with Marseille and Lazio.

The forward, 22, is not expected to report to training on Monday.

Instead, he will be given more time off until his future is resolved.

Greenwood starred at Getafe last season, where he won the LaLiga club's player of the year award.

  • Saka - a United fan?

BUKAYO SAKA was left stunned by Luke Shaw's claim he is a Manchester United fan.

The England left-back even said he could "ask anyone in the squad" and they would agree with him.

Saka was having none of it, though, as the pair enjoyed a light-hearted exchange on the latest episode of the Lions' Den.

When asked, he suggested his favourite effort was against United by smiling and looking at Shaw.

He had previously joked about scoring against the Red Devils man earlier in the show.

Saka even burst out laughing as he teased his team-mate, who quipped: "It’s because B supports United, that’s why it’s his favourite…"

In response, Saka protested: "You're lying bro."

Shaw then added: "B, come on, be honest, we can ask anyone in the squad."

Protesting the claim, Saka called on Shaw to "ask Dec" (Rice) in order to get a final answer to their jokey argument.

  • Bremer enjoying links

Gleison Bremer has revealed he his flattered to be linked with a move to Man Utd.

"I am flattered by the interest of some top clubs but I am already in a great team like Juventus," the defender said,

"I am very focused on the Copa America. I have many goals. I want to play one or two World Cups and I want to continue fighting for important titles in Europe."

  • Shaw on his return

Luke Shaw played for England for the first time in the Euros, capping a return from injury.

    Afterwards, he said:

It felt amazing to be honest, it's been a really long road, I've had a lot of setbacks. I think the hard work I've put in, especially over the last few weeks, make it worthwhile. To be back on the pitch and to win was a very nice feeling for me."
