  • England 0-0 Slovenia

    2. Foden gets to the byline down the left before Drkusic comes flying in with a tackle.

He wins the ball and plays it off Foden and it's a goal kick that's awarded.

  • England 0-0 Slovenia

    1. England with all the possession early on having kicked off.

No surprises to see that, with Slovenia quite happy to sit in their 4-4-2 shape.

Guehi is forced to go long to Kane who is shoved off the ball as the Slovenians get their first touch.

    1. KICK OFF!

England's final group game of Euro 2024 is underway!

    • Pre-match = complete

And we're now about ready for a start as the England players ditch their questionable pre-match jackets and get together for the team photo.

It'll look a similar picture to those before, with only Conor Gallagher in place of Trent Alexander-Arnold here.

Topping the group sees England miss some of the big hitters from the tournament so far. A must win, then.

    • Here they come

Harry Kane and Jan Oblak lead out their sides into a cauldron of noise inside Cologne.

A scorching day in terms of temperature and there's a real heat inside the ground.

      Time for the anthems.

    • Grouped

The players gather inside the tunnel as the atmosphere somehow manages to go up a notch.

    • The boss

Gareth Southgate emerges before the two sides, clutching two bottles of water.

The England boss takes a few paces onto the park before clapping the England supporters inside the stadium.

He can feel the backing, with camera crews inside the ground panning to a 'In Southgate We Trust' flag held by a group of fans.

    • Ten to go

The players are back inside and we're almost ready for a start in Cologne.

The stadium is in full voice, it should be an incredible atmosphere here.

Certainly to start, then we'll see how things pan out...

    • Expecting goals?

England are looking for a statement victory tonight to announce their arrival.

So looking for lots of goals? Maybe that might be misguided.

England have scored once in the last two meetings with Slovenia, a 1-0 win and 0-0 draw.

And it's only been two goals in the last three games for the Three Lions. Something needs to click.

    • Concern

A slight issue for Jordan Pickford, who has taken his glove off during the warm-up.

He's moving and stretching his fingers while wincing.

He does continue the warm-up and see it through. One to keep an eye on.

    • Put through their paces

A glimpse of the England squad getting warmed up ahead of kick off tonight.

The starting XI warming up themselves, as they normally do.

But looking at some of those not involved from the start that will be desperate for a kick tonight. If England do start convincingly, the likes of Anthony Gordon and Cole Palmer will be gunning for some minutes.

    • Group scores so far

      Matchday one

      • Serbia 0-1 England
      • Slovenia 1-1 Serbia

      Matchday two

      • Denmark 1-1 England
      • Slovenia 1-1 Denmark
    • Elsewhere

As mentioned before, Denmark and Serbia match up at the same time tonight.

Denmark eyeing top spot if England slip up, with the Serbs ready to clinch a likely best third place spot with victory there.

One of the good groups where everyone is playing for something!

    • Record equaling

John Stones and Jordan Pickford are set for their 22nd consecutive start for England at major tournaments.

The pair have been stalwarts in the recent side and will always play if and when fit.

Stones has battled with injury concerns this term so that's a great achievement for him.

They've now matched Ashley Cole's record.

    • Huge roar

The stadium erupts as Harry Kane leads England out to get warmed up a few moments ago.

More cheers from the England supporters than jeers from the Slovenians but both sets of supporters certainly made their feelings known.

The England players embrace in the middle and they get preparations underway.

    • Earlier tonight

Bit of significance in the earlier games this evening.

Netherlands lost 3-2 to Austria - who have actually now WON that group!

That's because France were held by Poland, a 1-1 draw with a pair of penalties scored.

For all the stick England have received so far, the French haven't been much better. In fact, they've been pretty rotten in their three games in all honesty. Kylian Mbappe's finishing in particular has been dire.

Netherlands now finishing third - and now a possible England opponent should they win the group tonight.

    • Team to beat

Slovenia boss Matjaz Kek insists England remain one of the favourites to win Euro 2024 despite their troubled start.

"We are playing against one of the favourites, if not the favourite, for the tournament," he told reporters on Monday.

"We respect England very much. We know their strengths and their individuals.

"The Euros have just started and I see them as one of the favourites to win the tournament.

"I don't know why I would question England, be it the individuals or the team in general."

    • Wag watch

      You've asked, we've delivered!

The England Wags are in place inside the ground with less than an hour until we get underway this evening.

A positive feeling amongst the supporters coming in too...

    • Rice up for it

Declan Rice says the game brings a good opportunity to bounce back from their mediocre showing against Denmark.

He said: “It is a chance for us as a group to bounce back from the other night.

“That’s the beauty of football. You always get another chance to go again and tomorrow night we have that chance to put that game behind us and move forward in a positive way.”

    • Latest odds

England are comfortable favourites, as you might expect.

Slovenia nearly as big as 10/1 this evening!

      Match Odds from BetMGM.:

      • England – 33/100
      • Draw – 9/2

    • How we stand

So here's how the table looks heading into matchday three.

Denmark and Serbia in the other game this evening, with the Danes in particular looking to capitalise on any England slip up.

    • Slovenia team news

And their opponents have been named too.

Benjamin Sesko the main danger man up top.

SLOVENIA: Oblak, Karnicnik, Drkusic, Bijol, Janza, Stojanovic, Cerin, Elsnik, Mlakar, Sporar, Sesko

    • England team news

Confirmed - Trent Alexander Arnold has been dropped by Gareth Southgate for today's game.

Conor Gallagher takes his place in midfield.

The rest of the team stays as is.

ENGLAND XI: Pickford, Walker, Stones, Guehi, Trippier, Rice, Gallagher, Bellingham, Foden, Saka, Kane

    • Relaxed focus

The England squad arrived a little while ago and have taken in their surroundings here at the RheinEnergieStadion.

A mixture of smiles and relaxed mood amongst the squad on arrival before heading in to get prepared.

    • 'Oblivious'

Gareth Southgate insists he’s ‘oblivious’ about the criticism aimed at him and his players, saying they have been ‘brutally honest’ with themselves.

He said: "That's the world we're in. I'm oblivious to it, it's not important to me at all.

"What's important to me is I guide this group of players through the tournament. We're a high profile team with expectations and we understand everything we do will be scrutinised. I'm very comfortable with that life.

"I don't need to listen to externals because I am my own biggest critic and I think the players are as well.

"We know what we have done well, we have been very honest about that. We know where we need to be better, we have been brutally honest about that, and that's how you coach a team and improve performance."
