Inside Madonna’s secret 66th birthday break in Italy with boyfriend, 28, as she charters yacht in Capri

A RAFT of stars are celebrating their birthdays this week, with everyone from Maya Jama to Halle Berry being treated to cards and - if they’re lucky - a Colin the Caterpillar cake.

But Madonna has proven she is still the ultimate birthday queen, by throwing a ridiculously lavish bash involving a week-long trip to Italy to celebrate turning 66.

And the Ray of Light singer’s even taken her new boyfriend Akeem Morris along, which shows things are getting serious between them.

I first told last month how they were dating and then she shared this photo online of them heading out in Portofino together on Monday evening.

Madonna, proving she is unstoppable with a hat from the namesake brand, is currently staying at fashion designers Dolce and Gabbana’s waterside villa with her new man - and they went on a boat trip with friends at the beginning of the week.

On Friday, when she will actually hit 66, she will host an extravagant dinner at a historic site near Pompeii and even has a yacht anchored off the nearby island of Capri.

A source said: “Madonna is living her life to the absolute full and has spent a fortune on this birthday bash to celebrate with her nearest and dearest.

“She had a big scare when she got ill last summer before her Celebration Tour and now wants to embrace every minute.

“As much as it is about herself, this party and trip is about thanking all of her loved ones for their support and bringing them together. It’s going to be a big night.”

Madonna and her new man Akeem, who lives in New York and met the superstar through work, took a private jet from London to Genoa City Airport at the weekend before making their way down through Italy.

Last year, she flew to Lisbon, where she previously lived, to celebrate her birthday.

But Italy is clearly one of her favourite places, as she also went there for her special day in 2017, 2021 and 2022.

It’s months until my birthday but I won’t be expecting any of these bells and whistles.

I was treated to a pizza and beer last time, so a six-figure Italian party seems unlikely for me.
