Fears for Eamonn Holmes as he ‘goes missing’ for four weeks after back surgery

Eamonn, 62, was forced to take a break from his TV presenting duties in order to have the vital surgery to ease his chronic pain.

The former This Morning star revealed that surgeons were due to cut into his back and would need time off to recover - but he has since been off screens for four weeks.

His fans have been left concerned after not hearing from him since on social media - weeks after he tweeted his last health update.

Eamonn appeared on GB News earlier this week for a brief update - and left his following even more concerned when he admitted he was having "setbacks in the healing process".

"Had a few setbacks in the healing process. Doing my best to get back on track. Thanks for your support," he told his telly co-stars.

Since then, his following have been flooding social media with well-wishes, with Eamonn liking and replying to some of the messages.

"Hope you're feeling better Eamonn and that your back has improved. I know how hard it is being in pain every day," one penned.

Another chimed in: "So missing you Eamonn, hope you are feeling better," as a third added: "Missing you in the mornings."

Another fan penned: "How's your recovery going? Wishing you all the vest and hope to see you back on GB News very soon."

Eamonn then penned in response: "It might be a while I'm afraid."

As another fan asked: "Are you back tomorrow?" he explained: "Had a few setbacks. Doing my best. Thanks for your support."

A source close to Eamonn told The Sun: "Eamonn is still recovering from a back operation. He is grateful for all of the messages of support."

Earlier this year, Eamonn was rushed to hospital for "unexpected" and emergency treatment on his back - which causes his chronic pain.

He suffered a slipped disk in his back last year in a freak accident, and told how sleep is his "only escape" from the agony he was suffering.

Last month, in a new update, the star said he would undergo an operation and miss his slot on GB News until he recovered.

Eamonn shared: “This week a surgeon will cut into my back to hopefully relieve pressure on my sciatic nerves.

“It’s an operation that carries a 20 per cent risk of going wrong, but such is the pain and restrictions that I have been suffering for the past 18 months, I’ve decided it is a risk I am willing to take.

“In fact, it’s a risk I want to take because, at this moment in time, nothing could seem worse than the constant pain that runs through my lower back and legs.”

The update came after Eamonn left fans worried recently as he opened up on his chronic pain after sharing a snap of himself and his co-host Isabel Webster outside Buckingham Palace.
