So now we know what Taco Bell really means by “Live más”: Live like you’re much older than you are.

On July 9, Taco Bell announced the opening of “The Cantinas,” an “early retirement community” the brand promises will be a particularly unique weekend getaway.

Taco Bell says its latest experience, which will be located in San Diego, California, will highlight the leisurely lifestyle of septuagenarians, octogenarians and other folks of retirement age, without requiring an AARP card to do so. People of all ages are welcome.

The Cantinas will be opening its doors from Aug. 17 — 18, inviting guests to indulge in sunny relaxation in the form of early morning tee times, afternoon aerobics, pickleball matches and, of course, plenty of Taco Bell, in what the brand says is a “community oasis that celebrates the diverse art of living más.”

“There’s a common misconception that retirement unlocks the life you’ve been waiting for. And while that may be true for some, we don’t think you should have to wait until 55 to live the life you’re craving,” said said Taylor Montgomery, Taco Bell’s U.S. CMO, in a press release. “The Cantinas early retirement community, just like our brand, represents a place where all generations can come together, regardless of age, to Live their Más however they want.”

In order to sign up for exclusive access to The Cantinas, folks must be signed up for Taco Bell rewards. Potential guests of the experience can enjoy options including Weekend Memberships with overnight accommodations as well as Day Passes for a day chock-full of the experience’s amenities and activities.

There is one age-related caveat, though: The Cantinas experience is for Taco Bell superfans 21 and over.

Memberships will be available for purchase only for Taco Bell rewards members on a first-come, first-served basis on July 16 at 12 p.m. ET (9 a.m. PT) through a link available to only to rewards members in the Taco Bell app, and will include the following options:

  • Weekend Membership ($150): This includes overnight accommodations for the ticket holder and a guest, where both will have full access to amenities, recreation, dining and entertainment and more.
  • Day Pass ($50 per day): This includes full access for the ticket holder and a guest to the grounds, recreation, dining and more from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Those eager to score a Weekend Membership or Day Pass to The Cantinas can stay up-to-date on booking, community and itinerary announcements at TheCantinas.net or through the Taco Bell rewards program.
