Avoid this bank. They don't care about your situation or what you need help with.

I've been an Axos banking customer for several years and have had issue after issue with the app not working and customer service on many occasions. I have had my debit card stop working several times when i needed it most, and they say they were "performing maintenance"? Every time I have called to speak with someone at Axos, I can barely understand them and they have very robotic, emotionless responses. They act like they can care less about you or situation and are rushing to get off the phone or chat with you. It's like they've met their quota for the day so they're done. Don't get me started on their mobile deposit system in the app. It rarely works and when it does they have a 7 day waiting period on your deposit to go in. They're kind of a joke.

Highly Disappointing

The only reason I have any affiliation with Axos Bank is because I refinanced my car, unfortunately. They are definitely not user friendly nor do they care about their customers. The app is so confusing and it’s damn near impossible to talk to an actual person when in need. It’s only ever been a headache since I switched to this bank. Highly disappointing.

Axos Bank steals money!

Axos Bank literally stole money and didn't apply any funds towards the principal. We are trying to get a class action lawsuit and investigate if this has happened to other customers. This is, hands down, illegal and this bank should be closed immediately and prosecuted.

Transaction Error - Terrible Resolution Service

UPDATE 8/22/24 - One day after submitting this review, Axos did finally submit the dispute to the merchant and sent an update message on it. (I assume in response to the escalation referenced in their response)
*Checking and savings accounts with Axos Bank for several years. They were average for an online bank. Recently they paid out a declined transaction for a relatively substantial amount and rather than reversing the error required me to file a dispute as a buyers remorse transaction (when the payout was their error). No provisional credit applied. I understand transaction disputes can take 90 days to resolve and we are half way through that since the transaction date with my $ tied up and no status updates beyond "processing"

Worst company I have ever banked with

Worst company I have ever banked with. Their personal and business accounts are both a disaster. Their customer service is horrific.

BE VERY CAREFUL WITH AXOS BANK, VERY SLY

Five years ago, I took out a PL with this bank. It was for an emergency medical condition, and I was grateful for the loan [I did have excellent credit, was working and own a home and condo]. The loan agreement demanded that they receive the monthly payments via auto withdrawal from my bank account. All that went well, [although they were NOT supportive at all during Covid pandemic] and I have NEVER been late or missed a payment. This month was to be my last payment [August 2024] - THEN I get an email from them stating that they were unable to withdraw the payment. I immediately checked my bank account and had more than enough funds to cover the payment. I called Axos and was informed that because it was my Final payment they would NOT accept an auto withdrawal-I would need to send a check- AND THEY CHARGED EXTRA, PAY UP FRONT, INTEREST FOR TWELVE DAYS PAST when the auto withdrawal should have been made, even though they will be cashing the check earlier than the date they charged interest to!!! Today they email me saying my payment is past due-SERIOUSLY, I SPOKE WITH THEM AUGUST 12th- the day the payment was supposed to be auto withdrawn- AND THEY KNEW IT HAD BEEN SENT OUT IMMEDIATLY ON THAT VERY DAY, August 12th. I had to CALL THEM and ask them WHY they did not auto withdraw the payment!!! IF THEY CAN EMAIL ME ABOUT NOT GETTING THE AUTO PAYMENT & ABOUT TRYING TO SAY IT IS PAST DUE-THEN WHY CANʻT THEY EMAIL ME INSTRUCTIONS AHEAD OF THE FINAL PAYMENT DUE DATE, TELLING THE CONSUMER THAT THEY WILL NOT ACCEPT THE AUTO WITHDRAWEL ON THE FINAL PAYMENT!!! Very, Very POOR CUSTOMER service and sly unethical way to get extra interest from their consumers-I WOULD NOT recommend Axos Bank!!

Horrible, app, service, functionality, etc

I signed up with an account with Acos Bank about 2 months ago. Since then it has been horrible. I initially started with just $200 in my account. When I try to transfer more money in, it takes me to the direct deposit website. The banking app looks like it was made in 1990. When I try to use the debit card, it declines but there's no indication as to why on the website. Customer service is never available. I'm going to transfer to a different online bank because Axos is ghetto

Unauthorized changes and withholding information

I took out a mortgage from AXOS Bank in July of 2024. Initially, the loan officer was responsive, but after the appraisal came in lower than the offered price, they changed the down payment amount without approval. After that, things got even worse: the loan officer became almost non-responsive and did not recognize the site condo as a separate entity, not as a condominium. Having it listed as a condominium meant that I had to pay points to lower the interest rate. To top everything off, during the closing, they showed the paid points were used to decrease the interest rate by 0.125, although I was quoted a reduction of the interest rate by 0.375 two weeks before the closing. I would have accepted the slightly higher interest rate if they had offered it to me. I asked for the closing documents to be amended if the 0.125 decrease is not correct, but they did not do it, so I guess keeping me in the dark worked to get more money.

I gave them one star because they did not charge me origination fees.

I would not recommend AXOS to anyone buying a home in Michigan.

It's pretty bad

It's pretty bad. They hold a check for a very long time. And website crushes a lot, I guess. Many times, I get "Wrong password" message. Then I can't access anything. They updated the business online banking platform but honestly, it hasn't really worked once since the renewal. If you are opening an account new, better stay away.

So far So good.

I've been on and off with axos bank for a few years. I like you can use the atm anywhere you want. I did have issues with processing payments and direct deposits in the past.

I went back with them about a month ago and actually they've been great. DIrect deposits arrived super early and the processing payments are spot on with no hiccups at all. I'm glad they seemed to get everything straightened out it seems. Crossing Fingers.

Very challenging customer service experience-persistence needed!

I needed a letter from the bank providing me with permission to lease my mortgaged coop apartment in NYC. I requested it, but had no satisfaction for over a week of calls and email, until I made quite a fuss. Instead of the requested letter, I was provided with a copy of the promissory note, which indicated that I had the rights to use the property at will. Hopefully this will suffice. Communication between departments is clearly deficient at Axos Bank, and there should be no buffers between clients and the Loan Servicing department, but there are. The ability to speak to the department directly by telephone is essential and a normal part of customer service. This must be fixed. Automated responses do not serve anyone.

Lack of CSR expertise and help

Trying to fill in a change of signatory form - the macros used in their Acrobat form do not populate the spaces in the form - one ends up with their script still in place so the result is illegible.
When I print the form so I can manually enter the data, the data-spaces have the "Click here to enter .." printed as well. Useless.

Trying to find a contact on the site turned up a couple of broken links - 404 error - not exactly trust inspiring.

I spoke to two different CSRs, neither of whom could connect me with a tech support, send me an emailed copy of the form that I could print, nor give me a different phone number for help.

Serious bummer - not sure we chould keep our business account here.

Looks Like They Are Going to Keep My Money

I contacted customer service (very broken english, having to spell many words during the conversation). I had received an email indicating my account access had been "blocked" (which it has not). The email wants me to submit personally identifying information and documents via unsecure email. As I do not receive any "utility bills thru the mail" (which is one of the items they are requesting), it is not possible for me to comply with their request (nor would it be advisable). The csr assured me that my money was safe, but that I would not be able to have access to my funds (so, it's safe from my use of it as well). Definitely not the level of protection anyone would need. When I asked to be transferred to a supervisor, I was informed that is not possible.

08/07/2024 Update: It appears that the "right team" is not doing any better of a job. My concern has yet to be addressed, my account is still "blocked," I have not been contacted to discuss a resolution. I will begin taking next steps, in an effort to speak to someone at the bank (your contact number does not take me to anyone who can discuss this issue).

Cannot speak to anyone actually at this bank, only a call center

You cannot speak to anyone at this bank. You can only get a call center in China. They are actually unable to do anything to help you, even when there is an obvious problem with their website. They just tell you not to use the mobile app, but go to the website, where no keyboard comes up to enter your password.

NOT GOOD AT ALL

Opened two accounts there. I funded one the first day. It has been 9 days and my check has not posted. When I sent a message asking why it hasn’t posted the reply simply confirmed my deposit. In the mean time they have emailed me every other day reminding me to fund my second account. Fat chance!

Quite a second class bank with no…

Quite a second class bank with no service it’s one of the worst bank I could have ever worked with. They have zero customer service and looks like they are not very accommodating to new clients. Don’t waste your money and giving out your personal information to them

Attempted to open AXOS personal…

Attempted to open AXOS personal Checking. locked me out of my newly created account saying my user name was invalid. Customer service could not tell me why I was able to successfully open an account with an "invalid" user name, offered to assist me to sign up over the phone. (due to privacy, who does that anymore??). There is more, trying to keep it short. I asked the CSR to fix error but all he could do was cancel my account. spent way too long on an issue that should have never happened in the first place. I should have read the reviews first.

I use Axos Bank as my business bank…

I use Axos Bank as my business bank because they do international wire transfers and their fees for banking are zero. There is no minimum balance, no extra charges, and no monthly fees. I do everything online and my sales channels are direct deposit to their business bank. It is straightforward. It works for me and they do what I need for business banking without balance minimums, no maximum deposits per month or withdraws, and wire fees are $50 international / $25 domestic. I can pay bills and move money around for free.

Horrific mortgage services

Horrific mortgage services. Horrible bank that deserves a 0 star rating. It's taken 4 months to get in contact via their secure message because their lending department doesn't take calls. They've messed up our appraisal, PMI removal, HOA Hazard Insurance, Property Taxes and now my actual homeowners insurance. COMPLETE SHAM of a company. Trust every single review from yelp, google, trust pilot, etc. They're all dead accurate.
