Systems do not work

It is impossible to set up online banking. I have had several phone calls during which I am given conflicting advice. We're paying significant amounts of interest on our mortgage, but this is possibly the worst online service I have ever used. Avoid Barclays at all costs - having previously used their competitors, I can honestly say the service is by far the worst of the high street banks.

I can't make a payment and I can't…

I can't make a payment and I can't contact anyone at Barclays about it. Phone number doesn't work. Chat doesn't work. Messaging doesn't work. Meanwhile, their stupid status indicator says everything is working. Liars.

shocking customer service

shocking customer service, the Business banking team clearly have not idea regarding the protocols around ID confirmation. I have been told numerous different things but different people, all contradicting each other. Wasting my time and other peoples time, who have had to go into branches. Utter joke of a bank, no branches, not customer service, no help.

excellent customer service from the Huddersfield branch.
I went in to make an appointment to close my euro account, I was helped there and then to do this. I cannot thank them enough for their brilliant service.

Great customer service!!!

I recently visited the Barclays Bank Tooting branch and was fortunate to be helped by Louise. She was incredibly helpful and made sure all my banking needs were taken care of efficiently. Louise took the time to listen to my concerns and offered solutions that worked perfectly for me. Her friendly and professional attitude made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. I left the bank fully satisfied with the service I received. Thank you, Louise, for your excellent support!

I had problems logging into the Barclaycard app the…

I had problems logging into the Barclaycard app. There was an error code with a note saying I should contact customer services. It took some getting through to speak with some one but the gentleman I spoke with was professional and helpful. He told me the credit card account had been blocked because I had recently closed down a Barclays savings account. I had a residue of approximately £0.39 in the account which Barclays said they would close if I didn't use the account by a certain time. Consequently they closed the account which affected my access to the Credit Card account. The service person talked me through how to reactivate the app in order to access my credit card account. It was the same procedure as installing the app for the first time. Personal information, then a photo of my driving licence followed by a video with a speaking test. An alternative to this would be to use a pin sentry, so I agreed for him to send one to my home address. After the call ended I got a message from Barclays to say the photo of my Driving licence wasn't acceptable and could I choose another form of identification. So I sent my passport details plus my video and speaking test. This eventually came back as not acceptable. So I repeated the process only to receive the same message that the photo was not acceptable. By this time the service person must have triggered the mailing of the pin sentry so what happened next? I wasn't given the option to take a new photo and was asked "had the pin sentry arrived", which obviously it hasn't. This was followed by a message to contact the service department, which closed at 17:00 Monday-Friday. In the meantime the recorded message suggested I log into the app to use the messaging service!!
Barclays, I remember why, after 40 years as a customer, I left you due to your intransigence and stupidity.

Shockingly awful

It's shockingly awful. I've been with them for over 20 years, and customer service has gotten so bad that I transferred to another bank. The online banking messaging service is appalling, and you have to wait at least 30 minutes to talk to someone on the phone. When you do get through, they are often useless. In the end I had enough and transferred over to another bank and they have been brilliant. They did not care that they were losing a customer who has been with them for over two decades. I have now encouraged all my family members and friends to leave Barclays and they are in the process of doing that. Good riddance to bad rubbish I say!

Non existent customer service

Non existent customer service. Legitimate business made to feel like a criminal gang, random messages and texts threatening to close/restrict your account despite promptly providing any and all information required. No one available on the phone apart from call centres. Not even an apology for the run around. Do yourself a favour and take your business banking and money elsewhere.

This is the worst bank on the High…

This is the worst bank on the High Street N12 North Finchley. Full of below untelligent old hags who believe their attractive. You may have been many moons ago but you have all aged pretty bad. Bad energy in this branch. Asian cashier is vile 9manageress is awful and walks around like a mutton all so ungracious in every sence of the word. Customer Service complaints mind your own business why I take out my money you maybe poor and unable to enjoy your boring life people live differently its non of your business.

Barclay sent February 20th post no very…

Barclay sent February 20th post no very good got it last week late. They said they are closing with out any explanation why 3 hours in the bank 2 hours with manager just typing on keyboard I've been under extreme I was told corporate decision they know my condition date says close 20.4.2024 they have all ready closed pension and benefits due this week end i dont think they are trust worthy i had ambulance and police because there so called concerned

Horrible Policies and Poor Communication

I have a store card through Barclays and my auto payment didn't go through and they put my card on hold without any notification. No notification that my payment was past due or notification that my card was being put on hold. Customer service said that they have no option for "human action" to be made so I had to pay a late fee and wait 48 hours for my card to be released. So ridiculous!!!! I will never get a Barclays credit card ever again.

If this is the way they treat new business....

Having seen the poor reviews I was already dubious about switching my personal and business banking to Barclays Bank and Barclaycard, but thought I would give them a chance.
Gave up after waiting 25 minutes to speak to a new business adviser during a weekday afternoon.
If that is the way they treat new business what will they be like once I am commited ?
Took my £250k and went elsewhere.....

Closing your mortgage and other bank…

Closing your mortgage and other bank accounts with Barclays is a vey slow process. They make it as difficult as possible. They even have charged me an exit fee on a variable rate mortgage. Dreadful company. I had to give them one star but actually they don't deserve any stars

Customer service is TERRIBLE

Customer service is TERRIBLE.
Their representatives are not informed. They provide incorrect information. They are not at all helpful. They do not speak English clearly. I've not had any other online bank be so disinterested in really assisting. All they want to do is "open a ticket". I've been with Barclay for several years and they've really done a down hill slide in this regard.

Absolutely horrendous service from Barclays - had my card swollowed by atm, cannot get hold of Barclays, they dont answer phones & their message service is not working. App says there is no card associated with my account, so I cannot even order another one - they are evil

Customer service for business accounts…

Customer service for business accounts has become a shambles.
Cannot get a response to secure emails and sent in circles on phone calls.
They have removed personal business manager and replaced with ‘dedicated team’ who do not respond.
Awful bank, I will be moving my custom elsewhere.

Rubbish banks all of them

I live in a very busy seaside town which brings in more visitors than we want, but instead of serving the town for locals more importantly than the visitors etc they have closed the bank down having been on restricted opening hours for years, telling everyone to go to the local library if you need an appointment with the bank then to be told SORRY there will be no one there.
Rubbish bank closing down branches getting rid of staff and making mega profits why do we have to
put up with this
