Classically trained British actor Rupert Evans found his greatest success working in American television. Born in Staffordshire, England, he was educated in boarding schools throughout the country. A member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, he made his on-screen debut in the British sitcom "High Stakes" (ITV, 2001). He then joined the cast of short-lived dramas "Paradise Heights" (BBC, 2002) and "Rockface" (BBC, 2002-03).

His first true break came when he was cast as FBI agent John Myers in Guillermo del Toro's "Hellboy" (2004). He next appeared in the television miniseries "North & South" (BBC, 2004) and "Fingersmith" (BBC, 2005). After putting his stage training to use in the miniseries "Shakespeare Re-told" (BBC, 2005), he starred as a fictional king in "The Palace" (ITV, 2008). He then appeared opposite Rachel Weisz and Oscar Isaac in the historical epic "Agora" (2009).

Returning to television, he was cast as Frank Churchill in Jane Austen's "Emma" (BBC, 2009). After starring in the thriller "Asylum Blackout" (2011), he continued working in the miniseries format with roles in "World Without End" (Channel 4, 2012), based on Ken Follett's novel, and "Fleming: The Man Who Would Be Bond" (BBC America, 2014), appearing as Ian Fleming's brother, Peter.

He added recurring roles in the crime drama "Rogue" (Audience, 2013-17) and "The Village" (BBC, 2013-14). On film, he earned some of the best reviews of his career when he starred in Ivan Kavanagh's thriller "The Canal" (2014), playing a man haunted by a film of a century old murder. He also starred in horror mystery "The Boy" (2016) and Ewan McGregor's "American Pastoral."

His profile in the United States jumped when he was cast as one of the leads in the alternate history drama "The Man in the High Castle" (Amazon, 2015-18). Evans played Frank Fink, a Jewish man hiding his heritage from the ruling Nazis, in the series based on Philip K. Dick's novel. After the series ended, he joined the cast of the reboot of the supernatural drama "Charmed" (The CW, 2018-). He played Harry Greenwood, the guide for the three sisters of witches.
