Two weeks in, Giuliana Rancic is settling in well to first-time motherhood and watching her husband Bill's bond with their newborn Edward Duke brings her the most joy.
"I wasn't sure how I would handle changing my sleeping patterns and getting up in the middle of the night, but now that I've experienced it for a few weeks, I can tell you that I wouldn't change it for the world," the E! News anchor, 37, writes in a blog for NBC's TODAY of her time at home with their son.
Edward was born August 29 in Denver to a gestational carrier recently identified as Delphine. "Bill and I literally fight over who will be the one to get up with him in the middle of the night. We both just want to be with him all the time and not miss anything!"
Calling her son a "dream baby," Giuliana says watching her husband of five years interact with their child makes her heart soar. "I love seeing Bill and Duke together. After Duke's morning feeding, Bill puts him on his stomach (with Duke face up) and they take a little nap together," writes the proud mom. "It is the sweetest thing to witness."
Though she struggled publicly with breast cancer and years of infertility, Giuliana reasons that her journey to motherhood has been worth the wait.
Says Giuliana: "Great things can come out of the darkest time in your life."
