They have a type! Gigi Hadid revealed in a new interview that she and bestie Taylor Swift both have an attraction to British guys. Chatting with Britain’s ES Magazine, the 21-year-old model who’s dating English-born Zayn Malik, broke down why she and the “Shake It Off” singer — who recently called it quits with hunky Brit Tom Hiddleston — have a thing for boys who live across the pond.
“Well, I think we both like the British sense of charm,” she told the publication about her and T. Swift’s taste in men. Prior to Hiddleston, 35, Swift dated British heartthrob Harry Styles and U.K. native Calvin Harris.
Hadid’s remark was presumably made prior to the demise of HiddleSwift. As Us Weekly exclusively reported on September 9, the pop superstar, 26, pulled the plug on her relationship with the Thor actor after three months of dating.
“They just dived in and it backfired,” a source close to the Grammy winner told Us, adding that the pair had discussed marriage and kids. “They decided to take a break, and it turned into a breakup.”
Though Swift’s romance with her London dweller didn’t last, Hadid’s love life seems more solid than ever, despite a brief breakup with Malik, 23, back in June. According to the Tommy x Gigi designer, the “Pillowtalk” crooner spoils her with authentic home-cooked meals.
“I’m also getting super into British foods,” Hadid shared with ES. “I’m loving Heinz baked beans in the morning, yeah and Z cooks a lot. He makes a brilliant curry. Butter chicken is his signature dish. Don’t worry — he’s representing good for the British boys!”
Delicious dishes aside, the Malibu native — who previously dated Joe Jonas and Cody Simpson — told the magazine that she and the One Direction alum have found a deeper connection since they first started seeing each other in November 2015.
“For the first time, we are both in a relationship where we have very similar interests outside of work, and that is really important,” she said. “We cook a lot together and do art together, and we’re each other’s best friends. We both feel we can talk about anything and learn a lot from one another.”
