Justin Timberlake has been arrested in Sag Harbor, New York, on DWI-related charges, in the early hours of Tuesday morning, Sag Harbor Police Department representatives confirmed to Vanity Fair. He spent the night in police custody before being arraigned Tuesday morning in the town's court.

Timberlake, 43, was stopped by police at 12:37 a.m. when his 2025 BMW was seen blowing through a stop sign and swerving between lanes. Officers found that Timberlake, driving, was arraigned in the town’s court Tuesday morning. The police department said that he was released on his own recognizance, but has not shared whether fines or further court appearances will follow.

Representatives for Timberlake did not immediately respond to Vanity Fair’s request for comment.

According to TMZ, Timberlake met friends for dinner at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor Monday evening before the arrest. It would appear that Timberlake didn't get far after leaving: According to police, Timberlake was pulled over on Madison Street—the hotel, which is two doors down from the Sag Harbor Village Justice Court, is on Main Street, which, after one block, turns into Madison.

Timberlake is in the midst of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, with the next show scheduled for Friday in Chicago, and stops in New York City next week. The former ’NSync frontman released his latest solo album in March, and it has since seen anemic chart activity. In 2023, ex-girlfriend Britney Spears released her bombshell memoir, The Woman in Me, in which she shared anecdotes about Timberlake breaking up with her over text message, cheating on her, and saying he “didn’t want to be a father” when Spears became pregnant unexpectedly, leading to her get an abortion.

Timberlake did not respond formally to Spears’s memoir, but during a January concert, while introducing his 2002 song “Cry Me a River,” an essential piece of the Timberlake-Spears mythology, he declared, “I’d like to take this opportunity to apologize to absolutely fucking nobody.”
