This is a tough time for most businesses and baseball is no exception. Many Major League Baseball teams are estimating the 2020 season to be bring revenue loss. For many employees that will bring about a loss of jobs and income. Only two teams have committed to paying their employees through the month of June: the Minnesota Twins and the St. Louis Cardinals. Per Jeff Passon of ESPN:
As teams around baseball weigh pay cuts, the Minnesota Twins and St. Louis Cardinals have proven themselves model organizations in how they treat their employees. Both have committed to keeping their full staffs on at full pay through at least the end of June, sources tell ESPN.

This pledge only accounts for full-time employees which does not include all game day staff and it remains to be seen how minor leagues factor into the payroll, but it is still very good news, especially as teams across the league are having to resort to pay cuts and furloughs. Per Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post Dispatch:
The Cardinals also notified full-time employees, including coaches and scouts in baseball operations, that the club will pay their salaries and benefits through the end of June with no pay cuts or furloughs... Other organizations, including the Cubs, Reds, and Angels according to various reports, have instituted pay cuts or furloughs starting in June.
According to Goold the Phillies have also committed to paying its full-time employees for essentially the season. The Philadelphia Inquirer states the team will not reduce their full-time staff through the end of October.
There is a lot at stake for baseball to find a safe and effective solution for re-opening. Until then, I hope the Cardinals will continue to pay its employees through the season.
