There will be no skinny jeans revival if Katie Holmes has anything to do with it.
The actor, who is just days from the opening night of Our Town on Broadway, sauntered through the streets of New York City in an outfit perfectly suited to the impending fall. She wore a blue and white striped button-up, left mostly undone – a chic styling trick and a handy means of ventilation. But our eyes couldn’t help but wander to her black cropped raw hem jeans with an exaggerated wide-legged silhouette. Absolutely no skinny jeans revival to speak of here!
Holmes balanced out the extreme silhouette with her everywoman styling. She wore a pair of black leather ballet flats with a pointed vamp and a centre seam from Mansur Gavriel, and added a pair of black-framed sunglasses with sepia lenses. Always one to schlep at least one outsized bag around with her at all times, the actor carried both a tote bag and her recent favourite Tusting weekender bag.
We’ll definitely be taking cues from Katie Holmes’s simple yet stylish outfit come autumn – wide legs and all.
