When it gets seriously hot in LA, leaving the house is practically unthinkable. But if you must, Lily-Rose Depp has a solution to staying cool(ish) among the rising temperatures: ditching your pants.
Yesterday, Depp enjoyed a day of R&R on Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood, treating herself to a day of shopping and a mani-pedi. For her afternoon of retail therapy, the actor opted for an oversized white blouse, which she wore as a minidress.
A Californian, Depp is something of an expert in dressing for a hot, dry climate. This explains her billowing white shirtdress, whose airiness was aided by the floral broderie at the collar and lining the scalloped sleeves. Why, after all, suffer in clingy, too-tight jorts, when she could let her dress catch the breeze instead?
Depp kept her airy outfit light on accessories. She shielded herself from the sun with a pair of black cat-eye sunglesses. A noted fan of flats, she wore a pair of nude ballerinas with a small block heel (which she swapped for a pair of flimsy foam flip-flops for her pedicure.) And, ever the Chanel muse, she toted a sky-blue quilted square bag with a chain strap. But perhaps the most surprising accessory in her outfit: a chunky beaded anklet, which gave the otherwise-timeless look a laidback California twist. Stay cool, Lily-Rose Depp!
